  • Sasa Sestic - Best Barista in the World!

    Wow!!!

Huge congrats to Sasa Sestic who won the World Barista Championship (WBC2015)

Sasa owns Ona Coffee in Canberra and is a heck of good guy, he loves the industry and has always been driven to produce great stuff both in competition and in the cafe every day.

Today he won the biggest coffee competition there is, the WBC and for the next 12 months is officially the best barista in the world.

    AWESOME.

I'm sure the boys at Ona will be doing back-flips and the cafe will be in party mode for a long time to come.

    Again, well done Sasa.
You deserve the championship with all your hard word, dedication and total lack of barista ego!

I watched Sasa's semifinal presentation and it was really strong, despite him having been really sick for the prior couple of days.

A friend of mine was in Canberra last week for work and they filled a car and went for a drive to Ona... the place was packed (as you would expect).

                Absolutely fantastic work Sasa. Legendary.
You are gonna need a solid chain to hang that medal around your neck.
Well done to the Sestic Family for representing Australia to the World....and winning the Ultimate Prize.

Great result for Sasa & the Australian coffee industry. Which roaster does Sasa use/support?

Did anyone work out what brand of milk Sasa was using - I've read a half dozen times that he smuggled 6litres through to the US but I can't seem to find out what it is! That or I'm getting old and bad at the Google.
