Good stuff. The gotcha with "one size fits all" on a forum of 55,000 members is it never really will fit everyone but a happy medium is a good result.

The "New Posts" button will let you quickly skim the replies, expand one if needed via "See More" and "Go to Post" buttons which is really efficient.
If one thread is very busy it might fill the first page of results and if you had no interest in it I could see that annoying some but it's the best compromise that I can cobble together at the moment.

Not likely to have "bugs" just configuration woes.

    Try now.
Tests okay with my test account

Flynn and Chaos, my result is the same, even after clearing my cache. Maybe a bug?

flynnaus - I can now see that "New Topic" button, but not in the "Coffee Hardware for Sale" forum

Check again. The button should be there as you have the proper permissions.

338Javaphile Thanks - sorry I might have confused terminology, but was looking to create a new topic.

Sorry to make changes and muck-up the above screenshots but we'll give this a try (and await feedback)

If you are not logged in then you won't get the New Posts and Today's Posts buttons.
(to stop search engines, "bots" and guests from hurting database performance)

    Not logged in

If you are logged in, you'll get two tabs under the FORUMS and BEANBAY buttons.

    Logged in

    New Posts:
Returns a compact view of any posts in the last 2 weeks that you have not read (or marked as read).
(Gotchas: it might throw an error if you have too many unread posts and it might not update instantly as it's a server side task that marks posts as read on a schedule)

    Today's Posts:
Returns a list of all the posts today regardless if you have read them or not.
If they are unread, the title of the post will be BOLDER than a post you have read.

It was certainly your spam settings as all email was leaving here.

The gotcha with email, people forget that it's just like posting a letter in a letterbox, you know you posted it, it's up to others to deliver it... sometime in the future.
Working...
