    Yeah, that could work.

I used to have a private game I christened:

    Recycle Junk Mail Bingo.

This was when you got more than one bit of junk mail with a reply paid envelope supplied.
You took the junk mail from company A and put it in the reply paid envelope for company B and vice-versa. (Ensuring that you removed anything with your name or address on it).
Extra points could be earned for adding random recycling to the envelope. I once got an entire Corn Flakes package in a Citibank envelope!

Thus, you recycled, cost them money and had a bit of fun.

Surely we could embark on the electronic version if only we knew their REAL e-mail addresses!

Just use the words "free" and "Tibet" and the Chinese government filters will block their access for you.
    Cute idea.

Count yourself lucky with 20%. Just looked at the weekly stats on the Ironport spam filter at work and 93.9% - or 810k messages were spam. And none in my mailbox!

Great suggestion Andy but it may generate a turf war ;D

I got one the other day and canned it.

Spam is a real pain, according to Message Labs global statistics, of the total volume of email they scanned for the last 12 months 54% of it was spam. Fortunately our own domain at work only attracts about 20% of our overall email volume as spam but i guess it will increase as its only a matter of time.

...and the one that Linda and Thomas got today was from another China tamper spammer whos account was removed a week ago (and they made another called chuan6893 ).

I guess we could start telling them that everyone on CoffeeSnobs has a tamp but they should try over on coffee geek where the rest of the spammers hang-out!

    ;-)

Andy, I sent you an email about it.

My reply was NO and I passed it on to Andy... However got a response before their account may have been managed.

More personable than many others... but just teh same... All the info is in the posts and forum... So with 1 posts and the direct approach.. smacks of SPAM.

NOTE: I do not have MSN or Skype any way :-)

    Dear Anger,

Thanks so much for your kind reply.

I am working for a hardware manufacturer, and we mainly produce coffee tampers for cafes all over the world. Because of our food habit is different, I just know a little bit about coffee and coffee culture. In order to expand our coffee tamper market, let the cafe get competitive price and good quality from us, I think, know more about coffee culture would be useful for our tamper marketing, am I right? You should know that, In China, most of chinese like to drink tea, but not coffee.

Thank you very much for your kind attention. To this point, I hope that you could help me and give me so suggestions, your kind reply will be high appreciated.

    Have a nice weekend!
    Best regard,

There was an incident a little while back which was a local so they got a report or two to Fair Trading.

Unfortunately Russia and China is a whole different kettle of fish.

I have a few attempts at spam on a forum of mine.
    Mostly Russian.
Not many these days as they have to manually set up an account.
I usually manage to block them before they come back to try their new account.

I may have been the first member to get spammed
and sent details to the Mods for quick action

I don’t like spam at all

It starts as a trickle and becomes a never ending flood
It’s best to stop it early

Andy give them the Dirty Harry option (no option at all) [smiley=evil.gif]
