Re: AASCA - Vic Latte Art and Barista comp 8th-9th

DJ Mick was on hand to mix some tunes and Debb entered the scores...

Zoe from Coffee Hit (CoffeeSnobs site sponsor) using a blend that she and David put together (El Salvador and Honduras I think) which was roasted by David Makin.
(I can see a potential demarcation dispute with Australias current Barista champion ROASTING coffee!)

Zoe doses the next shot while previous pour oozes...

Zoes signature drink was reduced muscatel grapes, poured over an espresso shot and about 50ml of sparkling mineral water added just before the judges try it (to give bubbles).

I REALLY want to try this one. Simple and I assume a great explosion of coffee and fruit cake flavours.

The judges in shot are: The Vic cupping champ Tom, CoffeeSnob Nim, Mel from the Coffee Academy and Jeff from Da Vinci

Nolan had two vinyl record turntables on the bench to mix his own tunes...

                ...while pulling shots!

CoffeeSnob Simon uses his secret weapon to pull great shots... mental telepathy!

In shot is CSr David Sengs grinder timer and a really cool looking Aussie designed and made tamper.

                  Great looking pours...

Simons coffee cheese cake sig drink. It sounded and looked great!

Re: AASCA - Vic Latte Art and Barista comp 8th-9th

Talor from BBB had her first shot at the comp and made the finals, nice work!

The pour oozes into the cap cups...

Dosing is a blur in competition...

                    Milk and pour...

                    Industry dedication in ink.
Talor has an awesome coffee tattoo with flowers, leaves and cherry on her leg.  Nice art Talor, and we thought we were dedcated to the bean!

Jesse Hyde who worked for CS Sponsor Pioneer Coffee Roastery and more recently at Erins Primary Cafe is about to open his own place in the CBD - Dancing Goat.

Nice mouse-tail pour in the backgroud, close attention to milk temp in the foreground

                      Done this before...

"I used to play guitar full-time for a living," Hyde said. "Coffee geeks will never be rock stars. Slash (former lead guitarist of Guns N Roses) is way cooler than David Makin."
