Well Im confused - day/time/venue/sections?? can anyone confirm final schedule? AASCA site still says Barista Sunday - Art/Cupping on Saturday..... :-/

-The WA Barista, Latte Art and Cupping Championships will be held at the Mt Hawthorn Community Hall, 197 Scarborough Beach Road, Mt Hawthorn on the 22nd and 23rd November.

-The WA Judge Accreditation session will be held at the WA Barista Academy on the 21st November. If an applicant has not judged before they need to attend the Full Course spanning the entire day. If the applicant has judged previously then they only need to attend the Refresher Course which will take around 3 hours in the second half of the day.

The Barista Championships will be held primarily on the Saturday (22/11/08) and flow into the Sunday(23/11/08) morning depending on final entrant numbers. The WA Latte Art Championships and WA Cupping Championships will be held on the Sunday. Announcements on final scoring and placements of the WA Barista Championships will be made at approximately 3pm on the Sunday or at the end of day (around 5pm) on the Saturday if entrant numbers only spread to 1 day

well todays competition was both fun and exciting

Results were for the Barista competitions

1: Mark from 5 senses and WABA

2: Jesper from Ristretto

3: Charlesl from  Rocket fuel  ( i think i got this one right but feel free to correct me )

Big thank you for all the volunteers that helped make the event what it is and helping make things run smoothly ,

oh and remember to plug the sponsors  caffeto ... etc etc

latte art and cupping is on tomorrow so good luck to all the competitors .

Enjoyed watching a great day of competition and tasting the efforts of competitors, I dont think I will get much sleep tonight after ingesting so much caffeine.
Got to pull a couple of shots on the Simonelli at end of day and they came up a treat!!.....................

I didnt have a chance to go this year - I was going to try and get along today for the cupping but could not even make that. The event could not have fallen on a worse weekend timing wise for me - unless of course it had fallen three weeks ago on our anniversary (I would have had the "look" from Mrs Grendel for sure).

Congratulations to the winners - nice to see Ristretto and Rocket Fuel both on the podium, a first for each I think.
