    Re: macchiarti!

go for it! thats what I like to hear!

if you want a hint: keep the tip of the spout close to the surface of the crema. Tilt your cup until the espresso almost drips out, and slowly tilt it back to normal as you pour. Move quickly, but dont lose control!

    And have fun!

In keeping with the spirit of the machiarti, shouldnt it be something like "Have a go, ya demitasse!"?

On a side note I have a Sunbeam cafe crema as my home machine (cant afford anything better. next purchase is a good grinder) I have some coffee that was mis-ground at work (I left the grinder on 2.5 [decaf grind] when the customer wanted plunger [6]. oops). I tried the coffee at home and it came out almost as a ristretto, in a very fine stream tending to drips. I like this grind Its the slowest Ive ever got the macine to run.

I normally drink pic lattes but I might try doing some latte art in these cute little cups my roomie has. she doesnt know where they came fom unfortunately, but ill survive just using them.

really, theyre not all that hard - I reckon everyone should at least give them a go a couple of times. Youll surprise yourself at how easy they are!

the art is slightly back on today ... but the shot pulling is off! This was a 15sec double into two cups - this was the better of the two, but the milk was also a bit fluffy for my liking. Thought Id try a bit of B&W action too.

Oh yeah, and for a bit of size referrencing, I put my tamp next to the cup, just to show how small these really are.

    Matt:

Mine dont look quite as good!

It is 23C and sunny here in Perth today.

I just put my motorbike in for some repairs after an unsuccessful u-turn a few months back and had to walk for 35 minutes from the train station. Nice day for it though.

Now the machine is on and I will make myself a nice latte. The two hole tip is quite nice for one latte.

Very nice indeed! Are the ones you make for right handed drinkers just as nice? 8-)

Not quite up to everybody elses standard, but im getting better!

I think someone has mentioned it before but its easier with milk thats not been stretched too much, just a few short injections of air, then a nice long roll to get microfoam.

I think its more that Ive adjusted to something faster than a burning-out sunbeam!

The coffeeparts 2 hole tip is good for upwards of 200mls ... any more and its not powerful enough to push the milk around. The stock tip is great for above 200mls, if not a little too powerful ... not that Im complaining!
