    Gday Robster,

Havent tried it in a stove-top at all but its pretty darn nice brewed in a plunger too... the resulting cups are so smooth and tasty I could just lay back and drink em all day long ,

    Mmmm,

Just sampled a blend that was purely pot luck in origin but got a hint from our beloved leader Andy . Basically, just a simple blend of 50/50 Peru Kontiki Chamana and the forever venerable Yemen Ismaili. As simple a blend as this is, it has all the complexity and mouth-feel that one could ever want and a terrific finish of dark chocolate that just seems to go on and on. What a beauty,

This is what being a coffee snob is all about,

That blend also makes the thickest, creamiest stove-top coffee. Mmmm!

    Gday Belinda,

Yep, Im pretty sure that the Chanchamyo would be a great substitute. I think the Peruvian beans we get here at CS are all top shelf and seem to have great body and mouthfeel and when this is coupled with something as spicy as the Ismaili, it all just seems to fit hand in glove.

If you dont have any Ismaili, maybe you could try any of the other high grown East African beans, or maybe a Kenyan could be worth trying? Failing that, maybe one of the recent Indonesian beans like the Sumatra Toroja we had a little while ago. Must admit, I havent tried the Costa Rican Santa Elena you mention, but if its anything as good as the Tarrazu beans we get from time to time then it will tend to sharpen up the brew a tad and provide some top notes to the overall blend and probably shorten up the finish a little too.... Definitely worth trying though ,

    Mal.

    Sounds particularly delectible Mal :

Would love to try it but dont have either bean.

Would it work with any Peru bean, say the Chanchamyo from a recent poll?

and maybe a Costa Rica Santa Elena or a Columbian?
