Re: A blend that friends keep asking for more
KK/Alchemist, where did you source the Nicaraguan High Grown Bold beans from? Perhaps we could all make a wish in the wishing well and see what father beanbay brings

Re: A blend that friends keep asking for more
Amazing Alchemist
Looks like Koffee Kosmo blend is a keeper
I got my best results from about 5 days after roast and just got better (but alas I ran out to quickly)
This blend is going to be a staple at my place for sure
Keep a note on what the hordes say about it and if they keep on asking for more as they do at my place then we know we have a winner of a blend.
Once again many thanks in your participation and it looks like we will all benefit from it

Re: A blend that friends keep asking for more
Heya KK,
After cracking this open a couple of days ago, Im happy say this is a very nice blend indeed!
The degas in the first couple of days was amazing, with a smell of sweetness & nuttiness coming through very strongly (a fellow CS aptly likened the smell to LollyGobbleBlissBombs!)
Ive been extracting from a triple basket / naked PF, and have been getting very pleasant after-taste. I took my roasts to around 20-30 seconds into SC and this seemed to have developed flavours more akin to deep roasted almonds (hmmmm!)
Looking forward to seeing how this settles over the coming weeks and what kind of additional flavours develop!!
Cheers,

Re: A blend that friends keep asking for more
Hi Karumba
Those duelling corettos must have been working overtime Alchemist
I am sure the hoards will be coming back for more once they have tasted this blend
It’s also great as a triple basket extraction into 2 cups (that’s a nice drop)
I can’t wait for the cupping report in a few days
Once again Alchemist many thanks for the effort

Lets have these de-gas for a couple of days and see what flavours develop.... the suspense is killing me

... and in anticipation of the hordes that will be breaking down my door for more

Gotta love days off work

Re: A blend that friends keep asking for more
Sounds like youve found a winner KK. Ive been using the Nic HG 50% and Ethiopian Harar longberry and have had lots of comments from family and friends. I has a very choc/fruity taste with good mouthfeel and a lingering aftertaste, good as espresso, americano and milk drinks, Ive repeated the roast 3 times now and planning another soon. Took roast to start of 2c 195C and then cooled CS9-10.

A blend that friends keep asking for more
In desperation to avoid running out of roasted coffee beans
I doubled my available stash to 500 grams by mixing aprox 50% / 50% of
PNG Wahgi AA and Nicaraguan High grown bold
Now every time someone visits our home that had this blend B/4 asks for it again even after I serve them up another single origin or blend
I ask why is it that you like this blend and they say it feels that we have 70% (cocoa) dark chocolate flavour in our mouths for 20 minutes after we finish the coffee
I think that I have stumbled on a blend that people ask for and enjoy
I require an unbiased opinion
Can someone verify my experience if you have these 2 beans on hand mix them 50% / 50%
and report back with results
Many thanks
KK
