Delbs - seriously - go to the Bean Bay (which you've found) BROWN link. Andy does a fantastic job roasting, and the beans you'll get there are both fresh and second-to-none. You most definitely will NOT regret it - they'll be some of the best coffee you're likely to get (unless you start home roasting - which I caution you is addictive!).
Buying random beans off that other place that can't be mentioned is a bit of a Russian Roulette approach to the fine coffee experience.
I'm also pretty sure they'd be a roaster somewhere close to you that you get fresh beans from if you don't fancy the CS beans. Yelta's advice is also spot-on if you're really unsure. Let Andy choose

Re: Intro to blending
Hi all thanks for the replies and sorry for my late one
I'm after already roasted beans and i will be picking up the breville bcg800 grinder. This will be used in the bes900. I'm eager to try all sorts to get an idea. Does anyone buy any bags of roasted beans off ebay? I'll keep looking on bean bay and see what combinations I can find

Without more information from you it is almost impossible to give you advice. But thisOriginally posted by delbs View PostWell I don't really know ow the difference between the two so im not sure how to answer that question sorryis asking, do you want to buy ready-to-grind roasted coffee blends or would you prefer to get into roasting your own blends by buying a few varieties and learning how to roast your own blends.Did you mean buying already roasted beans and blend? Or buying greens and roast blends?
I'd be guessing the first option, because you make no reference to having, buying or even wanting to roast your own beans... (green beans are coffee beans 'au natural' - they get roasted to give them the flavour we like in our coffee. YOu can buy a roaster (some use a popcorn maker) to roast your own 'green beans' to get your preferred taste)
Also you don't mention a grinder, so I am wondering do you currently grind beans or have you been using pre-ground coffee from somewhere?

Why not try the roasted sample pack here CoffeeSnobs - BeanBay I'm sure Andy put it together with people like yourself in mind.
Good luck with your foray into the world of coffee.

Intro to blending
Hey all. I'm just starting out. My existing little Cafe Roma espresso machine has died so im looking to get a new machine. Equipment aside one thing I really haven't been exposed to is what type of beans to grind. I guess everyone has an acquired taste and preference but i just want to know an online source of beans or maybe a book on combinations of beans.
I didn't realise that people blend different beans together so im pretty keen to give it a shot. Can anyone recommend 2 types of beans that are nice together? I love all sorts of coffee and am eager to experiment with more. My machine I'm going to pick up is a breville bes900
Any info or insight like what brands to stay away from would be greatly appreciated. I have tried many brands from the likes of woolworths and am constantly dissapointed
Thanks
