    Re: Guatemalan / Kenya AA / ???

    Hi Big Steve,
I havent tried this combo but have just roasted some Kenya AA and will roast some Guatemalan tomorrow and try it.Im always keen to try new blends.
I have some Nicaragua beans so I can try them with the Kenya and compare it to the Guatemalan.
Do you have any problems hearing 1st crack or 2nd with the iroast?
I had one until it went kaboom recently and have switched to a breadmaker heatgun combo now.
I dont know if youve seen the posts re pimping the iroast 2 to adjust the roast temps but it makes interesting reading.

    Guatemalan / Kenya AA / ???

    Howdie All,

Ive been trolling these forums for while and have recently purchased an I-Roast 2 and "think" im starting to get a few decent roasts happening.

I have just finished roasting a batch each of Kenya AA and Guatemalan and have blended those together, has anyone tried this blend before? both batches were taken to just before the 2nd crack...

The closest thing I have tried was a blend "the guys at the local coffee bar" :-X made up for me which was 2 parts Guatemalan to 1 part Kenya AA which was awesome. So would it be worth doing another batch of the Guatemalan to try to match this or would it be better to leave this blend a 50/50 to keep the acidity from the Kenya beans quiet high?

Perhaps I should be adding a batch of Brazilian or another bean to smooth it out a little?

    Your thoughts?

    Happy Latte Sipping!
Working...
