  • Blending Unleaded with Super

I would like to reduce my caffeine intake a little and to do so do not wish to cut down my coffee intake or drink pure decaf. Has anyone blended say 1/3 decaf 2/3 super and had good results? :-?

decaf is against my religion, only used in office practical jokes, but cant imagine itd be bad to try, either way youll still get a caffiene hit of somekind albeit smaller one..

Yes. Just try it and see. Experimentation is the key as with all blending.

Ive blended the Decaf Mocha Java (a previous Beanbay) with a SO (forget which one) and the results were fine. Nice taste, but only a mellow hit of caffeine.

Waiting for these new crops of almost caffeine free coffee to come up. It will be very interesting for roasters to see what they do with it (given it cups well). Whether marketing it as natural decaf or using them in blends to reduce caffeine levels.

The Swiss Water Processed Decaf has got to be one of the best blends Ive ever tried. Full of flavour and comparable to the Veneziano Estate blend without the caffeine. I believe its 99% caffeine-free too and I can verify to its lack of caffeine as Ive taken them at night and hasnt affected my sleep (Im a very light sleeper at the best of times).

Agree with this, it is really good. My step daughter has a bad reaction to caffeine so I roast some of these when she comes for dinner and she loves it and so do we because we can drink coffee at night without any ill effects.
