Dennis gave me an idea with his 15 blend. I took 10 beans from each of my varieties. Doubled up on a couple, but different estates/year crops.

    Costa Rica Tarrazu 05 & 07
    Brazil Mogiana Natural 05
    Kenya AA 05 & 06
    India Mysore Nuggets 06
    Ethiopian Limmu 06
    Brazil Cerrado Bold 06
    Ugandan Bugisu 06
    PNG Peaberry 06
Colombia Supremo Valle De Cauca 06
    Guatemala Huehuetenango blue 06
    Bali Gunung Batur 06
    India Monsooned Malabar 06
Indonesian Sulawesi Kalosi Toraja gr. 1 06
    Dominican Republic Barahona AAA 06
    El Salvador AA 06
    Panama Volcan Baru 06
    Mexico Veracruz Organic HG 07
    Ethiopia Yirgacheffe 07
    Honduras Marcala SHB Organic 07
    Zambia Lupili Estate 07
    Malawi Pamwamba 07
    PNG Maragogipe 07
    India Tiger Mountain 07
    India Monsoon Peaberry 07
    Peru Grace Estate 07
    Ethiopian Harrar Natural 07
    Peru Segunda Naturals 07
    Ethiopian Sidamo 07
    Yemen Bani Ismail 07
    Sumatran Mandheling 07
    Timor Leste 07
    Mexico Jaltenango 07
    Cuba Altura 07
    Mountain Top Peaberry 07

After 24 hrs I was itching to have a taste. Surprisingly evenly roasted given the vast differences of all the beans. First taste in the cup was a shot of aniseed. Im not too fond of it as a flavour, and I find it mostly in the crema of certain beans. The shot was low in acid, even though there are some "sharpies" in the blend. The cup was surprisingly sweet, with hints of cocoa and winter fruits (pear/apple). Very rich and buttery mouthfeel. Robust without being overpowering, smooth. Finish was long and sweet. So long, that its been at least 15 minutes since cupping, I can still taste it.

Nunu, thats fantastic!  Might be a little difficult to get at least one bean in each cup, but with imaginations like ours, together we could rule the universe! ;D

Im amazed at how even my roast looks. 29 different types of bean, and yet they look far more even than the Ghimbi Im currently drinking.

Im imagining every shot could taste very, very different... which makes it kind of fun.

                          Youre all just copycats! :P

The original version was aptly named "Bottom of the draw" blend and it used to happen each december at the coffee academy. A pre- roast plend of all of the beans which dropped out of bags during the year. The 05 vintage was sensational as I recall ;-)

Isnt it fun to make something which will probably never get repeated 8-)
