I know nothing about coffees,. regions,. whats arabic, whats robusta... whats is good to blend with what for whatever reasons,...yadda yadda yadda. I just know that I have really enjoyed the coffees I have made with PNG Peaberry and the Mexico Veracruz Organic HG.
So,.. based on my very limited esperience (OMG esperience?? even my spelling is being affected by coffee
) and knowledge,.. I thought I might like to blend the two for my next roast.
By the time you read this,.. I will have already started the roast. Im just going to do a 50/50 pre-roast blend since I dont have a clue what difference it will make by adjusting the percentages in favour of one bean over the other anyway.
So knowing that the roast will have already been done anyway,.. because I have to grab the chance to roast now, while I have the time available to me,.. can anyone still offer their experience and tell me whether this has a chance of turning out ok,.. or whether Im wasting time blending these two because of their particular characteristics or whatever.
I am tired of the darn popper, and tired of running out of roasted beans because the roasts are so small.. so Im just going to try roasting my blend in a larger batch, using a heavy based pot over the BBQ side burner. This ought to be interesting,.and arm tiring no doubt.
EDITED TO ADD: Roast done,.. a bit uneven,. flat sides of many beans are a little too dark I think despite constant vigorous stirring/mixing with asian style wire and bamboo ladle. Smells nice already and cant wait to see what this blend brings to the cup.
