  • Blending with different roast levels.

I was told about a blending secret that some roasters use. It involves using the same type of bean but roasted to different levels eg: a CS-7, CS-9 and a CS11 or 12. or a Light Roast, a Medium and a French or Espresso type roast. Even going for 4 different levels.....

Has anyone tried this? I guess it would add a new dimension to any roast..

    heres to the cuppa... :P

With the right beans Ian, this method definitely produces some great results. While youre at it, I suggest you try each profile separately before blending according to the tastes you discover.

Different flavours from different roast levels of the same bean blended together sounds good to me. I have tried this and it certainly changes things in the cup !
        Give it a try.
