Re: Another Blend That Works (?)
Thats the great thing about home roasting, experimenting with different combinations and flavours knowing that it is your own creation and tastes great as well!!!

Re: Another Blend That Works (?)
Sorry cannot get beans from bean bay in NZ yet.
Recent roasts:
India High Grown Washed Arabica (Plantation A 795) 250gm India Robusta Cherry AB (unwashed) 50gm
30 secs into rolling SC.....
May have been a little heavy handed with the Robusta, but this blend
kicks like a mule.
Only sampled in double Flat whites 3 and 4 days post roast so far.
Also:
PNG Sigri A 100gm
Ethiopia Harar 50gm
India Monsooned Elephant 70gm
Panama SHB 50gm
India Robusta Sethuraman Estate Nirali 30gm
This is my fav at the moment in double Flat white.
50 secs into SC and still sampling 7 days out, yummy !
Yes I dont know what Im doing, but I am having heaps of fun and drinking better coffee than they are at the cafes around here anyway !
Enjoy CB.

Re: Another Blend That Works (?)
Sounds like a nice balanced blend Steve.
I am using at the moment:-
Nicaraguan High Grown
Bali Gunung Batir 50/50
both 9/10 day post roast and it is making amazing flat whites, rich, no acidity, lovely thick caramel crema, god Ive got to run and make another!!!

Another Blend That Works (?)
Gday All,
I couldnt find a thread to add this to (Yes, I only had a boy look :
), so I thought I would just create a new one.
Blended together some left overs which seemed to work really well together, these were (all roasted just to the start of second crack):-
1/3 bag of Brazil Ipanema Reserva
1/2 bag of Malawi AA Plus Pamwamba
1 bag of Zimbabwe Pezuru Estate AA <-- Okay so not really left overs
These were 250g bag sizes, so I will let you do the math on the percentages, but this blend gets better and better every time I brew it up, I am on my 4th Piccolo for the morning
If you have found a blend recently that works well, why not post it here (especially if it is a combination of beans from recent bean bays).
Happy Sipping!Tags: None
