  • Indian Mysore Nuggets A Grade

Roasted my test batch on Monday, just cupped it this morning. Roasted to City, just on the verge of 2nd crack.

First impression: This one is a bit of a kicker. Light floral aromatics and medium-heavy acidity. Hints of cardamom with cranberry and Granny Smith apple flavours dominate. The finish is long and crisp.

Ill see how a darker roast goes with this one.

    Mate,

Sorry to correct you but there is no Mysore Nuggets A grade. The Mysore nuggest is basically prepared from an Arabica Parchment A. Here 90% of the beans have to be above Screen 19 whereas for the Parchment A 90% has to be above screen 17!

I was wondering that too - I actually went and checked my bag to see if it was indeed My sore nuggets A grade. It was.

Re: Indian Mysore Nuggets A Grade

...and my nuggets are A grade ones (that taste great).

                Go figure.

I can only guess that because the supplier prepared the from an Arabica Parchment A that they ware labled A grade. Makes sense to me.

                Great coffee too!

Any roasting profiles we should be specifically aiming for?

Nunu, have you gone in to 2nd crack with this one? How was it?

Re: Indian Mysore Nuggets A Grade

I had completely forgotten about posting a subsequent cupping. Ill blame work, as last march I was still easing into a new job.

Since then, Ive tried it into rolling 2nd and its just as nice, albeit not near as intense. As a SO blend it is dynamite. This only applies if youre a fan of bright, floral and fruity coffee.

My nuggets taste good too :P. But what makes them sore is not understanding all the lingo...

Forgive my ignorance :, but what is "rolling second" and what is "roasting to City"? :-?

                      Cheers,

Rolling second crack is when you continue far enough into 2nd crack that the snaps are coming quickly, without gaps between snaps.

City is the level of roast.

I find the american terminology a bit confusing, so I tend to use a light /medium/ dark terminology myself.
