    mmm, thick and chocolaty! Just got some in the post, and it sure has a thick dark crema. The browns made me think of chocolate and so does the taste!

    And its only 3 days post roast - Im looking forward to seeing how this one develops

    thats all, thought Id share.

    Good luck keeping it long enough to findout!

    The Tanz "special K" is in my grinder often at the Snobbery but goes at double the rate... just cant help myself.

    Stunning coffee.

      Ive let rip with this in the Behmor a few weeks back myself, just as good if not better than the first lot of faircrack Tanz

      its humbling to see the fruits of faircrack in your own roaster thinking of how far these have come and that we have helped them produce such a great coffee

      Whens the next faircrack batch due Andy :P

        did a 250g roast of Special K this morning to late stages of rolling first crack, 4 hours later savouring a Clever Dripper brew 20g to 300g water for 3mins, the aroma coming from the grinder jumped out and slapped me!! Lovely sweetness with creamy mouthfeel, juicy citrus/stonefruit taste which lingered on the palate--a most enjoyable coffee, well done Faircrack

          I bought this "special K" two weeks ago and roast it last week.
          Start to drink it few days ago.
          It really taste great and have the chocolate flavour there.
          The funning thing is at beginning, I misread the info about the "cocoa" flavour as "coconut".
          Then I keep wondering maybe my roast skill still need to be sharped.
          After few days, I re-read this forum and found out its "cocoa" flavour not "coconut".

          However, I did another blend following by the "bounty blend" which also suggest there is a "coconut" flavour, I still can not figure it out.
          I need to practise more I reckon.

            A special bean. 4 days post roast its rich chocolate. But not the choc pudding which is the Elephant Hills. Its dark, edgy chocolate with fruit characteristics. The best bean Ive roasted so far in terms of completeness and complexity. Definately worth as buy as a SO.

              In the end I found this has a sharp acidity which was too much for my espresso taste, but did really well in capps & lattes.

              I also found it was best used up early on, less than 2 weeks Id say, to preserve that excellent aroma! That could be related to my storage though.

                In milk this one makes a light bodied, bright and fruity espresso. More acidity than the Ethiopian gambella, lacks the earthiness of that bean. But at the same time its a very lively and refreshing coffee with an extremely clean aftertaste. I found it a tad too acidic as straight espresso. I think this one will be great blended with eitherr the Indian Eleohant Hills or the Sulawesi Blue. Ill test that theory out and report back later.

                    I give some roasted coffee to some of my friends and they found the citrus flavour and acidity a bit to intense.
                    On the flip side we found the Brazilian to be a little plain. I just had my first cup of 50 / 50 Special K and Brazilian. Delish.
                    Might try with a about a 40/60 slit next time with more Special K.
                    Was also thinking of doing a blend with the Ethiopian Gamella Thoughts

                        Yeah do it. As i said the Brazilians was still coffee, but i bit plan, had this as a short black today and was awesome, (was also good in the cap i had yesterday and the long black i had today also )

                          Was wondering when/if any of this might become available again? I've nearly finished my order of it, and it's easily my favourite to date.
