    Hi Cadan,
Yep, I love it. I am doing it as a single origin blend. I roast some to about CS 9.5 (a solid nine) although it can be a bit patchy looking and blend it with a nice CS 8 - 8.5 roast. I find it gives it a little bit more punch in a milk based drink. I have 2.5kg of greens left and will enjoy every drop. It doesn't tast quite as good as the Peru CdS Estate for mine but, regardless of its good value I thoroughly enjoy it too.
    Regards, Mariner.

I also like this one, was very surprised how good it was as a SO which also goes well with a variety of of beans. For the price you cant go wrong. I tend to like it between a late C8 to a late C9 depending on how im having it

          Hi Neofelis,
Photos can be deceiving but it looks like you have a single origin blend there. One lot to about CS10+ and another at about CS 9 and another at about CS8? This bean can look a little patchy though. As I said, photos can be deceiving as room lighting and white balance etc can give an incorrect color. What are you roasting it in? This bean drinks surprisingly well at most depths. I haven't tried it any deeper than CS 9.5 (which is about 30 seconds past the first snaps of second crack) so can't comment past that. I personally like it at about CS 9 the best - right at the onset of second crack. Put it in the grinder when it is ready and see how it tastes in the cup, i would love to hear what you think about it.
          Regards, Mariner

Well you're pretty much on the ball as this was from 3 different roasts.
I still need to learn on the popcorn popper which i'm using. I'm finding it hard to tell what second crack sounds like.
I'm assuming 6 mins is almost up to second crack on this one.

I'll post my thoughts on this coffee in about 10 minutes

Well I tried some of this yesterday just after roasting and it was bitter and I could taste some rawness to it.. Perhaps it was acidity aswell.

Today it's perfect - tastes like any other standard bean just $7.00 a kg instead of $30.00 for the vittoria which I used to drink. It does have an after taste which is hard to describe but it's not nasty and I rather enjoy this coffee.

I think for $7.00 a kg you cant go past this.

                Hi Neofelis,
Couldn't agree more, at $7kg it is hardto beat. This brew punches well above its weight. Second crack sound more like a snap than a crack but should happen at about CS9ish. Although it is probably not that relevant to you as I use a different roaster to you, my times for my last three roasts of this bean are as follow:

                Peru Segunda Wilds

                Cold start. Approximately 150g.

                Start: 10:30:30
                SFC: *10:44:00
                RFC: *10:44:30
                SSC: *10:46:10
                Pulled: *10:46:30

                Roast Depth: *CS 8•5.*

                Peru Segunda Wilds

                Warm start. Approximately 150g.

                Start: 10:53:00
                SFC: *11:04:00
                RFC: *11:05:00
                SSC: *11:06:40
                Pulled: *11:07:00

                Roast Depth: *CS 9•0.*

                Peru Segunda Wilds

                Warm start. Approximately 150g.

                Start: 11:14:00
                SFC: *11:25:00
                RFC: *11:26:00
                SSC: *11:28:15
                Pulled: *11:28:30

                Roast Depth: *CS 9•0.*

Hope that this is some help for you. It is a matter of personal taste but, if doing a single roast I definitely think that this bean is at its best when taken to a CS9, the first snap of second crack and then cooled quickly (within about 2 minutes) produces a surprisingly good quality cup.

I think this brew develops more/better flavours after about 6-7 days. Can't really tell you more that a few days after this as I usually finish it in a little over a week.

                Regards, M
