    Moving on

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Well the decision has been made and I would like to inform the CoffeeSnob community that I will be moving on from Pioneer Coffee Roastery. After 5 years here I feel that a new chapter is needed in my life and so I am on to bigger and better things.

I will be starting a new position with Cleanskin Coffee Co in Brisbane mid June.

Pioneer will continue its strong name with my head barista of 4 years, Kate, taking over the roasting duties.

Thank you to all the CS community who have supported me at Pioneer over the years.

    Jason.

    Re: Moving on

Anyone who knows pioneer coffee will agree when I say that Jason is the driving force behind the success of Pioneer. The ultimate all rounder, business owner and master roaster. ;) Good luck in your new job with Mark. What role will you be playing there?

Does this mean you will be relocating the family to Brisbane or transiting down the Bruce?

Jason, all the best in the transition to your new role and thanks for your open support to the forum and especially on a personal level.

Although I dont know Kate, Im sure from what Ive heard that Pioneers roasting will be in very capable hands.

    Re: Moving on

    Thanks guys,

Roger, we are moving down to Brisbane as Im sure you can imagine that commute of over an hour without traffic would be killer.

I will be taking on equal role with Mark. The company is still small so we will both be roasting and covering technical development of the business. As things grow Im sure I will slip into the natural role of Operations Manager (as that is my background) and Mark will take on sales and marketing. However I am far more excited to be in a workplace with 2 roasters who appreciate each others style, albeit very similar, and I have a feeling we are going to be producing some amazing coffees.

I will continue to be as active and controversial as ever on the forums, and hopefully talk Mark into joining as a sponsor.

Phil, anytime you want to drop in for a chat or coffee you are more than welcome.

Good luck with the move Jason - I flew out from the Sunshine Coast yesterday and the place doesnt feel the same without my regular airport coffee!

Good luck to you and your family on the move Jason. I imagine you should be able to avoid suburbia fairly easy with the roastery being in the north west. Otherwise you wont know yourself or sleep going from Yandina-Coolum rd to Old Gympie.

Will be interesting to see what the two of you produce.. Herank? I bet Kate is hating you. ;D

One of the reasons to move, as beautiful as the Coast is there are a few phrases that dont have a place here...i.e. good coffee, good food, good beer, culture......

This is what has me the most excited. Both Mark and I have produced some amazing coffees over the years with something like 15 Golden Bean medals in 3 years. It is going to be an absolute blast just letting our creative juices flow and coming up with some world class espresso blends. We also have a Synesso on its way already!!!

At first.....yes. Now she has realized that it is an opportunity for her to progress to roasting and is really bloody excited about it.
