    Melb cafe serving fresh decaf

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Does anyone of a cafe in Melbourne which uses fresh decaf - ie grinds on demand rather than using preground?

Mods - happy for this to move to "Good Coffee Where > VIC" section, I just didnt want to clutter it with a question.

im sure there are quite a number of them and prob most/some of them are in the good coffee where section as you mention.
most likely any place like "expresso presto" or "koffee time" would be a sure bet for not what you want.
maybe tell us where u thinking of heading down to?

Not that I drink it but BBB and St Ali certainly had it available and the Auction Rooms had a third grinder which I am assuming may have been the decaf one? All three places grind on demand as do Di Bella (didnt see decaff)

I had my first and only ever decaf coffee whilst out at Cafeineattics at 500 Collins St in the city recently and it was so good youd be hard pressed to tell that it was not the real thing!

Ill travel just about anywhere at the moment if I can fit it into my day, but was hoping for something in the eastern suburbs (bit further east than Maling Room).

    1. Pregnant
    2. My machine is in for a service
    3. I havent gone off coffee this pregnancy but didnt really have the energy to make a coffee (which will sound strange to any non-pregnant snob!). Now since my machine went to hospital I look at the empty space on my bench and my freshly roasted mocha java decaf beans and Im craving coffee like you cant imagine!!!! *

Are you cheeky enough to take them with you?

You could see if your local cafe will put them through the grinder.

Youve almost tempted me!!! Im still a little shy after going to a cafe about a year ago when I had run out of beans and, after ordering a coffee, asked if they could sell me some beans. I received a stern look and was told "management wouldnt like that". I thought it was a win-win situation, but apparently not.

roknee, Liar Liar can be sometimes be "east" enough. Its a good excuse to visit family and friends near there. Pity it wasnt open a few years back when I lived 500m up the road!

    Hi Kohi....

I can confirm that not only do we grind on deman for decaf (and all coffee) at Di Bella Roasting Warehouse in North Melbourne...

But...... most of our outlets we supply in Melbourne also have a seperate decaf grinder... the ones that dont is purley based on space.... as we offer a seperate grinder for all our customers....

A full list of our Melbourne clients can be found on www.dibellacoffee.com.au

    Hope this helps... :)
