    Not happy, Jan!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Not that I blame CoffeeSnobs, but just had to have a whinge. * >:(

Decided to order an Imax roaster. *Sent an email to Vitali, asking about it and to find out how much is freight. *Got a reply, asking where I lived (I was sure I mentioned it in the first email) *Got another reply, quoting $18. *Sent a reply, telling him I would like to order one, giving my name, address and phone number. * No reply. *After several more emails, I was ready to forget about it, but after I whinged here, I got encouraged to phone him. *I did, he insisted that he has replied to each of my emails. *I thought that was weird, as I never had a problem receiving private emails. *Gave him another email address, in case he has a problem with the first one. *Gave him my credit card number and repeated *my address and phone number. *The payment has gone through my credit card on the 1st, but still no machine. *Since then, I had ordered and received a Pullman tamper, which had to be custom made! *>:(

I emailed him yesterday, marking it urgent and requesting a receipt (so that he cant pretend not to have received it). *The receipt has arrived yesterday, but no actual reply! *Do you think I should stop the credit card payment? *I could phone him again, but he would only tell me that either that he hasnt received my email, and/or the machine is in the mail and Id have wasted another long distance phone call. *:(

hmmm ... sounds like hes related to our wedding photographer.

At least 50 emails and probably 100 phone calls later, we got our photos in the mail a few days before our first anniversary.

Were still waiting for him to call/email to ask for the $1500 we owe him!

    Hi Judy,

It might be easier to clear things up with Vitali by phone, as all of sorts of hiccups can happen with email (eg sometimes our emails get delayed for 3 days or occasionally disappear; If someones computer date is set wrong, their emails can get whisked off to a long forgotten section of your inbox without you realising; etc etc . . ).

My Imex didnt arrive when Vitali told me it would (Perth -> Melb). When I contacted them they apologised because they didnt get it to the courier in time. They then gave me the consignment note number for the package and the toll-free phone number for the courier, so I could track its progress directly with them. Once the package was in their system the couriers were able to tell me when it would arrive. That gave me peace of mind.

It was all worth it once the Imex arrived and I could start playing with it :)

The trouble with email is that spam filters can sometimes stop it getting to the recipient, but as you say, you got the receipt.

Nothing like a phone call to clear up any misunderstanding ::)

I think I saw a show about him on Today Tonight, or another of those Investigative Journalism shows. Or maybe its a thing with wedding photographers.

    Hi Judy,

If you have tried your very best to communicate with Vitali, then i would recommend that you get your bank to reverse the credit card fees, based on the grounding that you have not yet received your goods that you have paid for.

Well, it arrived today! *Very weird indeed. *The delivery guy phoned at 7am to ask for my address. *I told him. *He agreed that he does have the correct address, but he went there last week and there is a shop, no residence. *Well, my street is a main street - the numbers continue all along (so he couldnt have gone to the same number in a different suburb) and the house number, being a block of flats, is on the building in huge letters. *He arrived with the machine an hour later. *On the box someone wrote: *"Must go". *Most peculiar!

Nope! Do it on the weekend. I am now the proud owner of a popper, which chimney ready (even got a bit of wire fly screen that I have to figure out how to attach, to catch the chaff ;D) Also not yet used. :-[ and the Imex

Now, I have to figure out where to do it. The manual for the Imex warns against doing it outdoors, but I will have to ignore that warning. Also says not to use an extension cord. Cant follow those instructions either - no power point on the balcony :D. I could try going downstairs and use the power point belonging to the gate opening gizmo, but the neighbours may call the men in the white coats ;D
