The most expensive coffee in Australia?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I found it! Today my partner and I had a few minutes to kill before work and tried a place we had never been.....Nacional in Albert Park, Melbourne. We ordered 2 large flat whites that arrived 20 minutes later in huge cups. Paying $13 at the register - priceless!

Pretty sure that isnt the most expensive. I thought I heard of a place that sold those beans that cost $2000kg from the lima cats. For some reason I have a feeling it was $50 for a cup.

Was your coffee worth it though?

$13? Mental note not to go there, unless of course the coffee was so fantastically fantastic... was it?

I recently attended a cupping which included sampling Kopi Luwak. I enjoyed the occasion and the great group of people who attended this fund raiser rather than the actual coffee, which was ok but I would not pay $25 a kg for it let alone $1500!! You can buy a hell of a lot of Beanbay greens for $1500.
But at least I can say that I have tried it!!! ::) ::)

My most expensive cup of coffee in Australia: $103, Oct 2008. Arriving back in OZ at 10pm after 30 hours in transit. Booked for speeding ($100) to my favourite coffee outlet at 6.10am the next morning. Worth it though, after 6 weeks without a good coffee!
My least expensive full-priced coffee in Australia: sixpence (5 cents), Aug 1960. Wagged classes at night-school to try the districts first coffee shop. Not worth it....Dad found out. "This is not for the likes of a lad like you, he said. Im concerned because Ive heard that folk singers hang out in this type of establishment"
    He neednt have worried.

Its alright. Not worth $50 on a regular basis, but for $50 to have tried the worlds most expensive coffee, sure. I paid $80 and got 6 cups worth (of beans), so Im much more frugal *;)

As far as regular coffee, $8.10 for a cup of blue mountain was a bit steep, considering it ended up being burnt *>:(

Cheapest, well a cafe in Adelaide gave free coffee for a week when they first opened, so that might be it. and free instant shouldnt count as its not really coffee anyway...

The Kopi Luwak is being sold in a coffee shop in Brisbane i think.
Nova radio station had the owners & some Kopi Luwak to taste in the studio one morning about 2 mths ago. Poo jokes made up most of the discussion as well as a blind test. Tasted smoother was the outcome for your $50.Can`t recall the coffee shops name.

The Coffee Laboratory Bishop St Kelvin Grove...

He actually has a business over seas and I understand that any number of others selling the product may be subject to FAKE product...

I have seen the farm, the area as well as the collection process; as well as some of the very interesting methods - that some go to, to fake the raw product..

    Behmor Brazen - $249 - Free Freight
    Hi.

    My entry for most expensive coffee would be the first cup from my La Marzocco GS/3, ground on my Mazzer Mini, beans roasted in my Gene Cafe (and I am assuming the house doesnt count). *Luckily;

    - tasted fantastic
    - all future coffees free (lets face it, the hardware is now paid for).

    Cheers,

    s
