    Bumping Etiquette

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
What are the rules for BUMPING on this forum - is it considered bad etiquette to post with just the word BUMP :-?

I know on some forums it is frowned upon, especially where items are FS.

I would expect it far better form to add another picture, drop the price or do something useful with your bump.

While we dont have any "bump rules" I would expect that I might just delete the bump if it didnt add anything to the content.

Oh, Im going to move this post too... the forsale section is for sale, genreral coffee would make more sense.

Good items that are well priced last a little over 36 seconds in the for sale section... so if something isnt selling I would suggest that the price or description is the problem... not lack of exposure.

i have never thought of this as annoying, cant remember doing it on this forum but i will keep it in mind now.

Andy makes a good point as always, exposure is good enough so not to much bumping happens.

Its never worried me on the odd occasion that it has happened and I can see, sometimes, why it does. Sometimes a lot of good machines or items can get buried under the posts that get changed to Sold or Sourced", particularly if there has been a fair bit of activity.

Overall, its no as if it is a hugely fast paced section like it may be in some forums Ive visited where everyone ends up trying to out-bump each other to keep their item at the top of the list and it only takes about 5 seconds to see that someones just bumped something: not a great deal of time out of ones life.
