    Success at last

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Im not sure if this is the right spot for this post but here goes anyway.

Most regular CSs will have seen my posts recently where I couldnt manage a decent shot to save my life. I suspected it was something I was doing wrong because Im new to all this. I posted a video, a couple of photos and quite a few posts seeking enlightenment on what I was doing wrong.

Well, surprise... surprise... A few of us got together yesterday at Pioneer Coffee and Tim Adams generously gave us 250g each of his Herbaza roast. It was something he apparently did for competition recently. I cleaned out my Mazzer this morning and loaded it up with some of Tims beans, and pulled a shot.

Low and behold it was a beautiful looking shot and the resulting coffee (with milk) was the best Ive managed by a country mile. It was beautiful. My wife concurred that it was the best Id managed too. Thanks again Tim.

Theres a lesson here that a number of people tried to hammer through my thick skull which says... "Great coffee starts with great beans." And now I understand why.

I know its just a first step an a long road of learning but I am extremely excited to think that most of my problem seems to have stemmed from C@#P beans in the first place. Yahoo!

    Cheers all,
    Tony

giggled like a schoolgirl...... Looking back and also at a recient post by GW as to home roasting etc...... You can fully understand why we say BEANS First ;D

As part of the general chit chat.. I think we even went down the path of Good equipment / Raw product Vs User in the quest for great coffee ;) However untill you actually experience it... The concept is hard to grasp for many... I mean every shop has a machine... It cant be that hard ;D :D

Once again.. Great news and a special thanks to Tim......

PS. How is every thing looking for Sue ? The sooner she is able to get up and around... You can have her making ya coffee :D

AMW and AMD send their support... Mind you, I am still recovering after the disipline that was delt out to me
for my lack of manners and not having a coffee and lemon cake on the table... On their return from the Ginger Factory :D ;)

Take care all and stay safe over x-Mas
