    the best 10 roasts
By roasts do you mean Single Origins as opposed to blends?

What kind of coffee drink or preparation method(s)?
Espresso based only or does Turkish/Greek and other styles get a look in?

    P.S. Welcome to Coffee Snobs.

Im afraid that is more confusing.
Single Origin refers to beans from a.... Single Origin.
A Blend is most commonly a mixture of 2 or more Single Origins.
There is such a thing as a Single Origin Blend. It is when the same Single Origin is roasted to different levels and mixed together, but there are not too many of them around in the commercial world I would think.

So, once again I would ask you to clarify what you are actually after.
What are the parameters of your study?
    What are the target outcomes?
What do you mean by best? Taste is a very subjective thing, and if you are going on gross sales, then all instants will probably fill the slots.

Still a bit too vague at present.

    Re: coffee blends

Ah Grasshopper you have much to learn ;)

Single origin is not a blend it is a single origin :D

Best advice for a start use Google as google is your friend.

Cup Of Excellence (COE) for research on what are some of the worlds best SOs. These coffees are generally consumed as SOs and not blended due to small lot sizes.

You will see Kopi Luwak come up as the most expensive coffee, that certainly doesnt mean it is the best or the most expensive it is marketing hype and in a lot of cases not the real deal anyway.

Blends everyones blend id the best in the world thats why they roast and blend it that way. BUT not all blends suit all coffee making varieties or all coffee drinks. So The best 10 is best for what??? Straight Espresso or milk based are different in a lot of cases.

If its an assignment and you have a few years (10-30 would be good) to get it done and a big budget then you might have a chance otherwise any conclusions reached will be parroting some website with a vested interest in promoting XYZ beans.

Maybe it would help if you quoted what the uni has written for you to do.
