Hi Richard, you write with such passion ;) - many of us can relate to the separation anxiety you feel when you are parted from Sylvia.
I recently returned from a trip away from my Faema... I stayed in Sydney with a Gaggia classic, which performed bravely despite its tiny steam arm (after I secretly loaded their grinder with my fresh beans). Then I travelled to Hobart and stayed with a La Cimbali Junior, sneaking my own beans again into the grinder. The coffee was brilliant and the barista skills far superior to my own paltry efforts, but I was so glad to return home again after a week to my Faema.
Anyone would think I had a social disorder, imagining that I live in a world populated with coffee machines - where humans are appliances who only exist to serve them. ;D
