    Some coffee related photos

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey all,

Im a photographer and aspiring coffee snob, and I recently started a series of shots looking in great detail at coffee.

I wanted to see if I could capture that elusive honey quality of espresso, during the pour and the way it moves and changes in the cup, and the fluid interactions with milk, the texture of ground coffee and foam, so plenty of potential subject matter.

Anyhoo, there were a few technical challenges mostly to do with my modest espresso equipment (a napoletana). My next plan is to use a high-speed camera to film the pour, that should be pretty speccy.

So Ive attached a few shots here, you can read more about the process at my blog which is here.

Any suggestions on other aspects of coffee that would be fun to photograph in high speed?

    Cheers,

    Rick.

    Welcome to CS, Rick.

Have a bit of a look here for some inspiration for pour photos.

Your photos look great together like that, I like the storyboard youve done. :)

    Thanks!

Thats a great thread, it is becoming very evident that I need a naked portafilter and a more capable machine / operator.

And I NEED that Bodum glass. Gorgeous.

Anyone in Melbourne wanna team up on this with me of a spare afternoon?

Oh, what screen resolution / size are you viewing it on, thundergod?

Pity youre in Melbourne...would have come round with camera and glasses to play! :D Though, I have an even more stunning glass than the Bodum and machine than the Lelit but its a bit bigger too... ;D

Keep practising, Rick, youll get better! :)
