Where can I hire 1/2 group machine for a day event?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Hi all, Im trying to source information for hiring either a 1 or 2 group commercial espresso machine for a church open day event in Brisbane. Event goes from 10am-4:30pm.

A few of us home baristas will be operating the machine, making, Im estimating, ~30-40 cups of coffee per hour at the peak.

Can anyone help me with any info or advice?

    Thanks in advance!

    You know that a 1 group will be 15amp and a 2 group 20+amp?

Getting power might be a problem not to mention drainage and water.

I am doing an event for my son school and we are using two HX machines we probably will do 300 cups during the day, try to contact other CS they may give you a hand.

!Gday Andy and Renzo. Thanks for the suggestions!

Called up a few of the suggestions from Renzo and others. Fairly big range of prices from $220-$450+ for the hire of a 2 group for a day (some include grinder, others charge for it) - anyway, putting this up there in case others are keen to know.

Will check on the power points at church before going ahead with the rental. One place said that their 2-group machine has a switch to bring it from 15amp to 10amp to make it legal (in his words). Does this sound legit?

    Interesting.
Could be turning off half the elements in the machine so it will run on 10 amp?

If so, the recovery time will suffer but it could still work for you.

school and we are using two HX machines
Which is the easy way around the problem! The two machines can be run off different curcuits and will run all day.

Worth seeing what power options you have on site and then working out which solution will work best.

There are a few "light commercial" 1 group machines out there that happily run on a standard 10A circuit and also happen to have internal tanks thus solving any water supply issues. The Iberital Handy/LAnna and La San Marcos Flexa 85 would be suitable candidates. A google search should point you to suppliers that have these machines available on a lease to own basis. I was once in the same position you currently find yourself in and was able to talk the supplier around to a weekend lease for a charitable event.

    Good luck
