Women who drank more than three cups of coffee had a 20% reduction in risk for basal cell carcinoma. Men who drank that much coffee had a 9% reduction in risk of the slow-growing cancer. People who drank the most coffee had the lowest risk...

...Researchers will have to do more work to identify the mechanism behind the reduced cancer risk, Song said.

    Jonty,

You are the exception that proves the rule. You say that you have 2 coffees a day, Not enough. The researchers said that with three coffees you could reduce the chance of cancer by 9%.

When I was growing up it was thought to be healthy to get plenty of sun. Without any effective sunscreens, we blue eyed light skinned ones often got sunburnt. In those days I didnít drink much coffee.

For years I snow skied, sailed and worked out in the sun.

Now I go yearly to have some of my my skin spots frozen off at a skin clinic, I wear a hat and sunscreen and I drink plenty of coffee.

    So far no cancer.

    Barry.

    Barryd,

Yeah you would be right, Im fair skinned so dont think coffee fix would help my cause.. 2 shots b/c I hate instant at work, so I love my tea to :)

On a side note have had a number of sun spots liquid N2 off as well but they leave bleached or lacking pigmentation. Best stuff I have used is Aldara cream. I am currently on a 2nd course and it since is on the PBS now I only paid $39 instead of the $150 I paid 12 months back (before PBS) for 12 by 250mg sachets. Leaves no marks and sunspots gone, so the risk of future BCC or SCC is gone :)

So I need to get that third shot into my system :)
