    Kopi Luak

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Anyone heard of Kopi Luak?

This is what I found on the net,
The Luak is a small Sumatran cat-like animal that loves to eat coffee plants, selecting only the finest ripest coffee cherries. The stone of the cherry (the bean) is indigestible to them, so the results of their feast are deposited on the ground next day.

The beans ferment inside the Luak’s stomach, which imparts a distinctive flavour once they are cleaned (thoroughly) and roasted.

I am guessing if this is available it would command an exhorbitant price!

    Did you guys see this?

"Bat Coffee (this product will be added shortly, when we have sufficient quantity)
We further guarantee that our Bat Coffee ® has been eaten by and has passed through the digestive tract of a bat, exact species unknown. Dr Massimo Marcone of the University of Guelph, after running tests on our Bat Coffee, came to the following conclusion; “Your bat coffee does look like it went through a GI track of an animal”."

Brings to mind the line from a Cheech & Chong movie. "What kind is it man." "Its Labradorian man!" "Oh, its from Labrador?" "No man, labrador Retriever. My dog ate my stash and I had to follow him around for days to get it all back!" ;D :o ;D

    Hello all

Im the owner of the Animal Coffee site and I wanted to reply to a few comments, if I may?
I took all the images on my site and I can assure you I didnt make those little nuggets myself, especially not with chook fat and vanilla! It doesnt taste particularly of vanilla so just the chook fat would probably do it.

Now are you sure these are some nice high-end arabica beans and not some cheapo robusta crud?
I have both high end Arabica and cruddy Robusta beans, you only need to choose your poison.

Unfortunately theres a limit to my supply so I cant give everyone a sample but if the people that run this site want to try some please feel free to email me and Ill get some off to you (sans the fancy box).
My main business is actually rare plants www.sumatraflora.com and Ill be away on a field trip in Borneo from Thursday, for the next month, so please email me before then or youll have to wait a while.

    Cheers, Troy.
