    SCAA Coffee Tasters Flavor Wheel

    Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    I decided to buy an SCAA Coffee Tasters Flavor Wheel poster at just $12 USD from the SCAA shop http://www.scaa.org. It would be a bargain, except for the $63 USD shipping cost. :( Does anybody stock these and other SCAA gear here in Australia?

    Im interested to know how the postage went up if you ordered more than one poster..... Id be interested in sharing the cost around if that helps, as Ive wanted one of these for a while. Perhaps if we drum up enough interest here we can do an Aussie distribution?

    A fine idea. I experimented with quantities on their site...

    All costs are $USD:
    1 = $61.88
    2 = $70.88 ($35.44 ea.)
    3 = $80.44 ($26.81 ea.)
    4 = $89.44 ($22.36 ea.)
    [...]
    10 = $145.69 ($14.56 ea.)
    [...]
    20 = $220.22 ($11.01 ea.)

    The shipping becomes quite reasonable in quantities of 10. Obviously, the exchange rate and local distribution costs would need to be factored in, but it looks like it would be worthwhile...

    Hmmm..I dont know if I could handle putting that poster on the wall with the word Flavor staring at me. I wonder if they produce one that uses the Queens english? :P

    Perhaps we could approach AASCA and ask them if theyre interested in licensing the wheel and adapting it for use in English speaking countries outside America... :-)

    please use a small amount of liquid paper Matt, that is all one needs.

    I originally said "bit of liquid paper, shell be right" but then thought I should review that.....

    Geez, its still pretty steep isnt it. Is that the "total cost" or just the cost of postage for those quantities? But yeah Id be up for that if we can get 10+.

    Im Sydney based, so can handle redistro from here, if that helps.

    cmon folks, get on board !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thats just the shipping cost. Posters extra. The posters are cheaper if youre a member of the SCAA ($9 vs. $12)... Perhaps someone here is? Sydneys probably a good central point of distribution, depends on the location of the majority of takers.

    Hmmmm.. I reckon it would depend on the color and what fiber they used in the paper ;)

    It cant seriously cost $63 US postage... :o

    Maybe a CS member based in the States could forward them on to us using a more standard postal method. Im looking at you Java *;)

    I can do that. Any idea of the weight for a dozen of them and the size of the tube?

    Good on ya Java,
    Perhaps Etienne could answer the dimension questions?

    Ive had golf clubs posted out from the USA and they can get expensive if the package is over a certain length, something around 42 inches from memory...? Perhaps if the tube is particularly long the postage could be high, but still seems crazy.

    The poster is 24 inches by 36 inches. Thats all the dimensional information on their site.

    Re: SCAA Coffee Tasters Flavor Wheel

    Doing some quick calculations on the US postal services site (http://www.usps.gov) I get the following rates for small packages (package dimensions total less than 84 inches) shipped to Australia in 4-10 days:

    5 pounds for $USD36.90

    10 pounds for $USD59.30

    15 pounds for $USD81.70

    The only cheaper option takes 4-6 weeks for delivery and costs:

    $USD22.75 for 5 pounds

    $USD29.60 for 10 pounds

    $USD36.45 for 15 pounds

    Think Consolidated Freight, (DHL Circle or any of the other Carriers) Brother used to Pay $3.00 USD a Kilogram for Electronic Components (30-150 Kg per week) when he was with another Company some Years ago (4 days- Calif to Sydney- Door to Door), Ill have to ring him up and ask him who he uses now..

    Re: SCAA Coffee Tasters Flavor Wheel

    Any idea how to work out the weight of say 20 posters plus a tube? If if came to 5 pounds (2.27kg) that works out to be about $2.56 Australian per poster in postal costs. At $12 US or approx $16.70 Aus plus $2.56 postage = $19.26 Aust *:)

    Then there is the Australian distribution postal costs...

    All in all if they came in for around $25 Aust it seems like a fair deal.

    NB: All calculations and prices are my own rough guesstimates nothing in stone, as you may have guessed *:)

    If your looking for numbers and the cost ends up being around the $20 each region, count me in also for one.

    Whatever you do, MAKE SURE POSTAGE IS INSURED.
    Especially at that rate.

    Just yesterday I finally received compensation for a very small parcel, sent air mail to the US, three months ago ---- and never delivered.

    Australia Post discharged its end admirably, delivering to the US overnight. What happened after that is anyones guess.

    Luckily I insured.

    Did anyone actually get those Flavour Wheel posters? I am keen to get them if anyone else is interested in ordering bulk. I assume no one in Australia is licensed to sell them yet.
    If anyone one in Thailand thought there was demand for these there would be cheap knock offs for sale in the markets of Patong ;D

    Hi, I also was going to purchase one of those posters but bulked at the postage, so I would be interested if you are doing a bulk buy.
