I had a training day today at Floreat Forum in Perths Western suburbs. As I arrived I could smell the aroma we at CS all know and love - roasting coffee. A decent sized coffee shop called Delish. They bake their own bread and cakes and roast their own coffee. The owner (Ian) has been roasting there for 9 years and does a blend of Kenyan AA, Columbian, PNG and (I think) sumatran.

We had a chat, and I got an espresso of the blend - very nice espresso blend and Ill have to try it with milk sometime.

It is well worth a visit if you are in the area and the place is well and truly discovered by the locals - very very busy. The food looked superb and there was plenty of staff for service.

He had a small roaster of about 1 to 1.5kg capacity and reckoned he roasted about 10-15kg a day. The smell of those roasting beans! ahhhhh. 14 minute profile for the roasts and I am going to go back soon and watch a whole roast - I ran out of time today.

An impressive operation supported by great coffee and food.

They have a website - but not much info on the coffee there. Just great to see another fresh roasting place in Perth.
