    Perth Bean Collection Point

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
JavaB and myself met at Epic today and I received my beans from the latest poll (yay JavaB and Andy)

We discussed the possibility of using Epic as a drop-off point for the green beans and a collection point for Perth and WA CSrs.

Corey is supportive of the idea and it would mean lower freight costs once we sort out a decent freight company (open to ideas here).

    Any takers?

Green beans? green power! Go solar - plenty of that! A BP solar panel, 240v power transformer and youre away.

But with all those green beans.....

You would have to stop and roast some.... or on the go????

Maybe a roasting drum next to the engine exhaust.... Now if we cut a hole in the floor pan :D ;D

No Dear, its just additional air conditioning ;)

A heat exchanger in the radiator..... install a group assembly on the dash.... ::)

What about the magic Presso for the coffee? That will leave the ciggy lighter for some other appliance... blender or something.

So Java- its the Javamobile-phile are we going to see some of the ideas percolating around this thread being incorporated into your van ;D ;D ;D

Why stop at a cafe, when you can take your own, odd really.

    Anything is possible. ;D ::) :o

Until then Ill just have to live with my current on the fly solution, CP! :) Pre-mixed with milk in liter bottles kept on ice in a handy esky (Hows that thundergod? Better? ;D). On long trips Ill bring along as many liters of straight CP as I think Ill need in a larger esky to mix up along the way. :)

Pun, what pun, its just the way it came out :)

Think what was really meant was de-cafe-nation ;D ;D ;D
after all there would be no need for cafes if we get the integral HX, AC compressor driven espresso machine mounted into the dash, and the exhaust heated roaster wil ensure we never run out of fresh beans on the longest road trip ;) could probably also make toasted sangers if needed 8-)

Oh and an inverter plugged into the cig lighter would surely power a Rocky or similiar 8-)

Then we only need the esky to keep some milk cold :)

While esky is new to me Ive been using the metric system for almost 40 years and am quite fluent in it. In fact I use it more than the US measures. :D 8-) :)

Few people realize it but the US has been metric since 1866. For more details: http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/usmetric.html

Glad to hear it, somehow referring to the CP in litre quantities sort of makes more sense than Gallons. We can get our head around fitting a few litres into an esky, but an esky with a gallon or two in it sounds like it must be huge 8-)

At Bathurst, an Esky that big would have wheels on it and its own motor to propel it ;D ;D

I put it in empty and then fill it. :D

If it needs to be taken out I get some burly friend to help me move it as it can easily weigh 100kg or more when fully loaded. :o ;D

Wll it looks like we have 9 people for a Perth colelction point (Epic in West Perth) 5 of whom will always use it and 4 that will often use it - Andy is this starting to get towards the numbers for a bulk shipping point?

    Grendel,

Have you managed to find any shipping agents who will provide us a good rate?

Those numbers look reasonable - we are probably talking > 20Kg per shipment.

Perth is soooo close but prob not this month. We have been talking with a courier company that should be able to do it for a great price (if the volume is there) but they wont have Perth on their destination map for another fortnight....

Should be sorted for the December poll though!

Same company will do SYD, BNE, ADL.... checking on Tassie too.

Its looks like its a "gor"!

We will be having a Perth drop-off for the next BeanBay due to high levels of interest. We are also talking to courier companies about some other options but its all slow going.

More details of the WA drop off will come closer to the December BeanBay.

We can ship to Brisbane easily if we have somewhere to ship it to and have enough CSrs keen on using it!

I would suggest starting a new thread and generating some interest and we will make it happen for this BeanBay.
