    Powder Dispenser

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hello fellow CSs,

Would anyone know if there is such a powder dispenser on the market on the market that allows you to hold a cup under the dispenser, you turn a handle or press a button and the dispenser delivers a measured dose of the powder into the cup.

I run a mobile espresso van and get slowed down when I have to locate the right container (dark & white chocolate, chai, etc.), unscrew the lid (and invariably drop it), dig out the measuring spoon (drop that too) and then reverse the process after I have finished making the drink.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have hunted around on the Net and the closest I have come to what I need is a "Cafe Bar" - thought these departed the earth in the late 80s along with Millli Vanilli and "Choose Life" t-shirts.

    Thanks,

    Anorak

we use these at our cafe and basically we add a liter of milk and then add the some chocolate buttons can pick them up cheap from places like bid vest, essential ingredients it makes a very premium hot chocolate and saves a lot of time but once again pricie other choice is mix your chocolate powder with water or milk say 1 part powder and 3 parts liquid and store in milk carton and get some milkshakes pumps you know the ones you attach to your syurp

I agree turn them into liquid form just water and they will keep longer. (im not sure about the chai but the chocolates will work) then you can just sqeeze it in the cup and add milk. you still have to stir though.

Site sponsors Cosmorex sell an "Andycup dispenser" (thats its real name, nothing to do with this Andy!)

Its sort of a cafe-bar upside down, teaspoon at a time powder dispenser for instant coffee, sugar, chocolate.

Contact Cosmorex as they might sell just the bottle without the urn etc. and you could mount it yourself.

Years ago I remember seeing a home brew product called something like "Kanga Sugar Dispenser"....it had a reservoir and a twist-handle and was used to deliver a metred dose of sugar into a home brew bottle before adding the brew. It was Australian made and was around the $10 mark from memory. If you contact a homebrew distributor they may have more info.

Theres something similar to the Andycup on the wall of the kitchenette at work.
It has plastic bottles of coffee and sugar screwed in upside down and a third dispenser that you fill with tea bags (they must go stale).
You turn the knob and get instant coffee, sugar or a tea bag.

    Re: Powder Dispenser

Surely the answer would have to be pre-mixing the powder with hot water in a 20Lt stainless steel bucket (or similar) and then pouring these off into large 1lt bottles (the ones with the tomato sauce bottle-type lids) - which enables you to dispense as you need it, and ensures a quality and consistent dose each time, without the hassle

You then add the resulting chocolate syrup to the cup, and some steamed milk, and give this a quick blast under the steam wand - then viola! Theres your instant hot chocolate / white chocolate (you can also do the same thing with chocolate buttons but I recommend combining these with some of the powder to make them go further) - and it should take you no time at all to make and dispense the product!

just watch out because some powders have a milk powder part to it and adding water can make it go bad after a week or so and also watch temp of mixture if its to cold it will cool down your hot chocolates and you will get people bringing them back crying that there to cold
