    Chocolate coated coffee beans...

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
A favourite of mine... Good for a hit when you really cant be bothered drinking a coffee...
    But where to get them?
Some lolly shops sometimes have them for sale, but history has shown me that the quality of chocolate is usually inferior.
Sometimes you can find a horrendously expensive tiny bag for sale in a good deli...
I have finally found one supplier that sells them, and theyre great! Excellent chocolate quality, delicious coffee flavour, and the coffee-chocolate combination is well balanced.
Better still, they sell them by the kilo as well as smaller bags. We now have a kilo! (but diminishing rapidly...)
But before I spill the beans... Does anyone have their favourite source for chocolate coated coffee beans?
Are they something that CSers get into?
Hey, heres a thought - has anyone ever made their own?

Pioneer Roastery was responsible for starting our indulgence with chocolate coated coffee beans. They were served as an accompaniment to their delicious coffee. Naturally we left purchasing both chocolate beans and coffee beans for later indulgences.

I love them and have been eating them for years. They are really good when you cant have a coffee, just munch on a few - dont overindulge though....

Would love to be able to make my own.

I love these too! I first had them back in High school on the side of my cap from Danes our local at Wahroonga.
These days i buy them from our local roaster at Castle Hill. You can get them in pre-packed 100g, 200g packs or buy any weight you want from the $/kg... They come in milk, white and dark chocolate. Classic milk are great, dark are very rich and yummy and i dont eat white choc so i dont know how they are.

Ive had the white chocolate ones, theyre pretty good too!

Normally, I get mine from anywhere that sells quality chocolate, so specialty chocolate stores. Keep an eye out at markets, sometimes there is a gourmet food supplier selling them there as well.

And some of the food courts in the bigger shopping malls that have a place that sells nuts in bulk might have them as well.

Or, yep, get them from a site sponsor!

Be careful NE1. You make a wrong turn going to Pine, and youll end up in GJ-land.

If you roast your own, you can make your own. Just get some good quality chocolate.

I bought some from the Mayan Coffee/Xocolat stall at Aroma this year.

Mmmm yummy. They are covered in a mix of ground coffee, chocolate, cinnamon and chilli - Just the right amount of chilli.

They are the best Chocolate coated coffee beans Ive ever had. Im jealous of my sister - she bought a huge bag of them and Ive nearly run out.

    I. need. more. I might have to go to Bondi Junction soon. Cool, now I have two reasons to go there (Di Bartoli & CCCBeans).

our family owns a lolly shop and we sell all sorts of lollies including the diy bulk movie type thing. in the "special" (read: expensive) section we have dark choc coated coffee beans, which I have sampled quite a few of and think are quite yum. local delis stock the same thing, they just re-brand them. in fact, a lot of their re-branded confectionery is the same or inferior to ours, it just looks nicer in their fancy packaging. Ive no idea who the supplier is as Im not involved on that side, i just go in and grab a bag of them to use in my cafe.

    Behmor Brazen - $249 - Free Freight
Well I will let you all know that I got mine from http://www.byronbaycoffeeco.com.au/
    or
    https://www.byronbaycoffeeco.com.au/index.php?action=show&page=category&categoryId=28

It sounds expensive until you read
All products prices include FREIGHT, POSTAGE AND HANDLING Australia wide.

So in reality, $26 per kg and $12.80 freight for up to 2kgs so I purchased 3 boxes of their Chilli Cinamon drinking chocolate as well - https://www.byronbaycoffeeco.com.au/index.php?action=show&page=category&categoryId=33

Best to check with them re the postage so they include other items - I did it over the phone before the 1KG of choc.coated beans was available, so dont know how the online ordering handles the freight.

    Yummy!
