Geelong and what it calls coffee!!!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I live as some know in Torquay about 20 mins from Central Geelong in Victoria.

Fortunately they have a great hospital there ( birth of child #5 last week)

Fortunately I do not go there too often!

Unfortunately I had the opportunity to try about 1 dozen different places for coffee over the last week,

not one repeat not on was acceptable on any level, I was shocked to say the least,

I drink short blacks generally and a long black over a meal,

over extracted, under extracted, insipid, weak, bitter, burnt, I have tried so many new ways to drink coffee! unfortunately

    none correct!

I got sick of sending them back and ended up ordering cups of tea.

In the end my idea of a god shot was something I could drink!

Last year someone reviewed Geelong as a tourist destination and criticized the quality of coffee in the town as a drawback

for tourism,he was hailed down in a stream of protest! he was however in my experience correct.

Its a shame because the service and food is pretty good most places.(although slow mostly).

(my apologies here to Ken at Pannini cafe in Pakington street I was not in that area and his coffee is worth a visit)

oh well back home to look after the kids ;)

    Craig.

hhhhmmmmmmmm Veneziano Caffe in Geelong now theres an idea!

Congratulations on number 5 Craig :)

Once upon a time I used to look at tea drinkers at cafes and think, "phooey". Nowdays I wonder if they are coffee snobs ;)

so coastal coffe, 5 down 12 more to go?

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Its a girl _ again _ for the Duggars. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed their 17th child, and seventh daughter, into the world Thursday.

Jennifer Danielle was born at 10:01 a.m. at Saint Marys Hospital in Rogers, Ark., the Duggars said in an interview. Jennifer weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and arrived five days after Michelles due date.

Less than 30 minutes after giving birth, the Duggars already were talking of having more.

"Wed love to have more," Michelle said, adding that the girls are outnumbered seven to 10 in the family. "We love the ruffles and lace."

Jennifer joins the fast-growing Duggar brood, who live in Tontitown in a 7,000-square-foot home. All the children _ whose names start with the letter J _ are home-schooled.

The oldest is 19 and the youngest, before Jennifer, is almost 2 years old.

"We are just so grateful to God for another gift from him," said Jim Bob Duggar, 42, a former state representative. "We are just so thankful to him that everything went just very well."

    Jennifer joins siblings Joshua, 19; John David, 17; Janna, 17; Jill, 16; Jessa, 14; Jinger, 13; Joseph, 12; Josiah, 11; Joy-Anna, 9; Jedidiah, 8; Jeremiah, 8; Jason 7; James 6; Justin, 4; Jackson, 3; Johannah, almost 2.

The family includes two sets of twins.

Michelle Duggar said that Joshua, Janna, Jill and Jessa were at the hospital, but that the rest of the family planned to visit their new sister later Thursday.

Michelle Duggar said she started feeling contractions Wednesday night and went to the hospital at about 5 a.m. Thursday.

"It actually went fast," she said. "I guess once I started progressing, it went within 30 minutes."

Jennifer was born via a VBAC _ or vaginal birth after Caesarean, Jim Bob Duggar said.

The Duggars have been featured on several programs on cables Discovery Health Network. The next special, the Duggar Family Album, is scheduled to air next month, Jim Bob Duggar said.

Among the "fun facts" listed on Discovery Healths Web page devoted to the Duggars: A baby has been born in every month except June; the Duggars have gone through an estimated 90,000 diapers, and Michelle, 40, has been pregnant for 126 months _ or 10.5 years _ of her life.

Luca, I finally got there today they use a decent brand of coffee too!!! ;)

I ordered a short black and was imediately worried as a trainee was making the coffee,

under strict supervision though, it was very good I had a second made by the lady training ,

it was as it should be better, but I did enjoy your coffee, all is not lost for Geelong, after all.

She had nothing but glowing reports for your company i might add ,well done.

    Craig.

The problem with a lot of cafes ,is they get young kids to work there pay minimum wage with little training and expect them to make good coffee! They need a bit of training . Having said that had great coffee at Inverlock years ago but havent been back there since . The cafe was down a little lane way dont recall the name though
