    Maccas and RFA

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Noticed McDonalds are advertising that their coffee is all Rainforest Alliance now.

Seems somewhat ironic, but hey, good on em.

Cant say Ill be trying it though :-/

Although - Linda (MaccasChicka) might know if its any good away from the hands of the typical Maccas PBTM and in the hands of a snob???

Michelle, they are actually selling the beans in 200gm bags starting shortly. Dont know the prices of them yet, although that will be interesting....soon as I know I will get back to you.

I think Mocopan won the supply contract from...Kraft? Would be interested to know which country/countries of origin they are from.

Theyre from Colombia, Brazil and Costa Rica. I read one of the place mats my Big Mac meal came on. Three central origins to make it "smooth".

    Re: Maccas and RFA

These beans are from Central America, Dave you are correct! :)

Nestle lost the deal with Maccas over these and the rights went to Mocopan, which funny enough, thats who they started with originally when McCafe started.

Mocopan also do the drinking chocolate, which is also changing shortly..that will be interesting to see whom that will come from!

    Back to the 200gm bags.

    These are $8.95 each...which I went *:o
Apparently they have had people ring up and ask why these are full beans and not ground?
I am awaiting someone to ask me to grind the beans for them. *;D

I dont know if it was just the person making it but I got one the other day and it was one of the worst I have had. Not that the old one was any better .

I guess it works for the people who are used to the not quite so excellent coffee that McCafes usually serve, and feel good about drinking RFA coffee.

    Behmor Brazen - $249 - Free Freight
As my wifes home barista she judges maccas coffee below average compared to the fresh home made espresso.

I think the beans are stored to long before use
either at the distributors warehouse and a maccas back storeroom or both

As long as it helps the RFA well I can live with the sentiment

As we know fresh is best for flavour
