    Snob suggestions for taste req

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
OK, on another thread I exposed the wonders of getting my non caffeine wife to drink espresso. Now I could use some help...

First question: Is there some fancy official name for a shot of espresso (30 ml) with about 15 ml of hot water added? For some reason this is my wifes preference and Id love to be able to say "one "ladidah thingamejob" coming up!

Second question: I introduced her with some Guatemalan Antigua I had - but have since run out. This morning I grabbed the blend I usually consume which we can euphamistically call "the milk cutter" and she declared it much stronger and not as preferred. I have some Kenyan AA which Im worried may be a bit "too full". I also have some Sumatran Mandhelling? Should I go with the Sumatran for her or rush out and grab more Guat? If Im going to rush out (again :-[ ) are there any other SOs snobs would like to suggest as a nice mellow cup. If youve got tasting notes use Guat Antigua as a good starting point.

    All help appreciated.

You may have just named it yourself.

Cant you pull a short of the blend to weaken it?

I think there was a thread on "Piccolo long blacks" , or "Medium blacks".
I sometimes have a doppio espresso and with about 30ml of hot water. I call them piccolo long blacks.

That got me laughing. How do I keep a straight face TG when I say "In Italy its called a ladidah thingamejob"? ;D

I think shell quite like "Piccolo" being thrown in there YeeZa. What Im more worried about is her trying to order one elsewhere with friends. If it had a name Id supply it to her. At the moment I suggested she ask for a short black with some hot water on the side - just in case she gets the urge to show off her new taste.

WOW blend sounds like its worth a go KK - cheers.

Seeing as its either a long short-black or a short long-black, how about calling it a long-short (sounds like long shot)... In your context you could say "One Long short coming up!"

I think "Piccolo long SHOT" should take her fancy as the home name. Piccolo because it sounds authentic, and long shot because in a way thats sorta what it is. Not a long black, but certainly longer than a shot, and a hell of a lot simpler than saying "short long black".

Thanks for the input guys, together weve named it.

    With an Italian accent.
Split the first syllable from the rest for a start.

    La didah thingamejob.

Or leave it as is and just say it with conviction...Uno ladidah thingamejob per favore!
