    Rosetta/ FERN - WHO WAS 1ST

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Many versions to see
    Difficult to perfect
    Never one the same
    I am recalling yet,
    A time in 1996
A friend of mine had seen it done
But couldnít quite explain due to the lack of Seattle sun.
    Within weeks my boys
    Showing off there poise
Had mastered the art for some.

Does anyone know the true history of this legendary art?
Cool to me because all variations appeal and you donít have to touch the coffee with your often dirty tools.

David Schomer of Cafe Vivace makes a claim of inventing (or one of his staff) latte art and the rosetta latte. I dont recall the spcifics but I do recall hearing it mentioned in the Cafť Vivace latte art traiing DVD.

Just watching the DVD again (Caffe Latte Art - Updated).

1m20s in he mentions that in 1988 they began developing mik art patterns, first the B in B and the in 1989 the Heart shape.

In 1993 they poured a rosetta latte in ceramic cups.
