Green Bean stock on hand spreadsheet/database needed...

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Fellow Snobs,

I have a few people/families who are piggy-backing on our beanbay purchases, the first of which arrived today (thanks Andy).

One will be roasting his own and two others I will be roasting for and all have varying quantity needs.

I am wondering if anyone has built an excel spreadsheet to handle green bean stock levels and possibly what has gone where, what they owe me etc all built into one sheet or series of sheets.

I have an idea in my head of what it should look like/do, but I am no good with macros and such so I was hoping to piggy-back off someone elses expertise and kindness if possible... :-/

Does that make me macro intolerant? Dunno... :-[

I have done a quick search (not real flash at that either) but while a few results looked promising, nothing with a link to a sheet has popped up.

Mods - If I am in the wrong place feel free to kick as hard as you like... :)

hi, should be pretty easy I htink, and dont think macros would be required. If you just type it all in spreadsheet style (maybe one sheet covering purchases, then one sheet covering what has gone out), then try using pivot tables to summarise how you like to see.

Chris I use a spreadsheet to keep track of my green beans.
Im currently down to less than 100kg and about 24 varieties but it seems to cope quite well. *;)

I agree with Damian that macros should not be necessary.
Also, I dont think pivot tables would be required.

My green bean info is all in one sheet but if you want to keep roasting records separate, thats easy too as I have a second sheet for that, where I keep track of whats roasted for myself or friends.

If you PM me an email address I can send you a sample copy and if you need some adjustments made I can do them for you.

This is a pretty useful database specifically designed for collecting a wide range of info about coffee. You can use as much of it or as little as you like; its quite flexible....

This page is just the Users Guide to all the various sections that the database covers. Have a look and give it a try if it piques your interest... ;)

Okay, this should be the end of the thread.

Had a think about it (and a good look at myself...) and downloaded a freeware inventory software package.

Should do the trick I hope.

Thanks for your input TG and Mal, and thanks for the spreadsheet TG - looks the goods for note keeping!!
