IMHO Yemen Bani Ismail is way ahead of any Kenya AA!
Its my top rated bean.
Having read all the positive posts about this bean Im quite curious to give it a shot if any comes in. Anything expected at this time of the year or does this one show up later on? *
If theres any similarities to the Kenya AA im enjoying at the moment id be interested in a couple of kilos. *:)

It is a highly rated bean, but it is also a more expensive bean.
Last time, I think it was around $25 per kilo, so keep that in mind for budgetary purposes.
Just so happens that I am drinking it right now!
Similarities to Kenya AA? Well, they are both coffees!
Hee Hee black market pricing $100/kg+ love this bean and it is stored under lock and key with my Aussie MTE 8-)
Thanks for the info. Sounds like a treat as a SO espresso. Hopefully it shows up on BeanBay soon so I can sample a bag.
It really is.
I still have a small stash but would love to see it up again.
I have a stash of both
Kenya AA x 1.5 kg
Yemen Bani x 2 kg
So you are telling me to roast in moderation
Save them. I can keep them safe for you. *;DOriginally Posted by 67434A4A49497367435F41432C0 link=1243324767/6#6 date=1243341052
Sorry Acog but the burglar alarm and the High voltage protection system is being connected before the weekend to my stash ;)
I think I have about 3.5kgs left 8-)
Man traps are a big NO in many places around the world - but not all... Now if it was a vermin trap ;DOriginally Posted by 5057535C545E4B5B5C55320 link=1243324767/8#8 date=1243344487
Rape gates was an issue that I had fun with in PNG and I also had my bike hooked up to a High voltage electric fence as security... From the local horses etc :o
Oh... One wet night in a rush... I forgot to power down the electric fence... Bugger of a thing had a kick like you would not believe.. I hurt for a week... Oh and I never bothered to get back up and go out... The bike just sat and looked at me 8-)
I love it, many of the fans of a "clean cup" cannot stand it but thats the fun of coffee... different coffees for different people, different moods, different days.
Think of it as the dessert wine of coffee... you might get sick of it all the time but as a treat it can be amazing.
Good news is we are currently roasting samples of the next crop.
Bad news is that it is still at origin so at least 2 months away.
I have a small personal stash but none for BeanBay in either green or roasted Im afraid.
Now I have a timetable for use of my stash...
...if only I can stick to it ;D
Thanks Andy *:) Looking forward to ordering some when it shows up in the future.Originally Posted by 1738322F560 link=1243324767/10#10 date=1243351270

:) :) too generous with neighbours, dad, sister etc.
Andy, crack the whip make those Yemenis work faster ;D
Ive just finished :( drinking a small stash of this Yemen that a fellow CS member *kindly sold me a bag of a couple of months ago 8-). I can see why its rated so well, a coffee I really looked forward to drinking as a long black *;D. *Definitely my favourite so far. Would I be right in assuming it may be in the next beanbay. (fingers crossed).
I really looked forward to drinking as a long black
This is my wifes favourite bean so far; shes a long black drinker.
Well worth the asking price. It was actually my wife as well that drinks a long black at night and said "You have to try this". Great coffee, slightly earthy and complex but balanced perfectly. The problem now is judging other coffees after trying this one. But so far theyve all been excellent. Drinking Yirg at the moment and enjoying every cup. 8-)
I am glad to see this fantastic bean has now got a small fan club!
No product recall on my beans Andy, I still have at least 5kg of it left...
I like to...savour it. ;D
Thats just plain nasty (unless you inviting the whole fan club around for coffee)Originally Posted by 5A767474766448747F7E747C76170 link=1243324767/41#41 date=1251887304
Any word on some Yemen yet?
I recall Andy saying "at least two months away" back in May. I know this entails anything from end July onwards, but have been holding my breath since then and am starving for air (and Yemen) desperately now.
Yeah.. Im waiting too!
As it turns out due to the lack of rain they had a much smaller crop than expected last season and had a "production shortfall".
I have talked to the guys at origin and they are harvesting the new crop in the next month and expect to have it ready for sale at the end of the year so I guess we are looking at January at best maybe Feb.
Now we wait.
Oh well, I still have ~1.5kg of this years BeanBay Yemen, and about ~1kg of last years Yemen (I liked that even better).
Oh? What is the point of this response? Ha, I still have some!!
The silliest thing I did this year was going onto Bean Bay, and seeing Yemen for sale. I bought a bag of 2.5kg and was happy. I later read of someone who bought the last 5kgs of that batch...Oh God, why didnt I buy 5kgs?
Oh well, I still have 1.5 + 1 kg to drink before the next offer...
Gee thanks for rubbing it in meander!Originally Posted by 0D05010E040512600 link=1243324767/45#45 date=1255348877
Did I mention the product recall?
Thanks for letting us know Andy - much appreciated.
Luckily, my rationing has still left me with 1kg. But am still holding my breath for the next lot.
