I agree. No-one comes close in terms of their generosity and goodwill either e.g. at the Australian Barista Championships this year, while two coffee suppliers were charging to taste their wares, I had to find a box to carry all the DiBella merchandise they handed me! Cap, T-shirt, beans, mug, book etc. And by the way, everytime Im headed to Brisbane Airport and the prospect of the coffee there, the train passes so tantalisingly close to DiBella Central that I can smell that Dulci Sappori......its not fair. Maybe the DiBella guys can get Airport trains to have a longer stop at Bowen Hills......maybe even a little coffee cart on the platform?

    Good story.

This pricked my ears though (as the resident CS canned coffee king)

His latest tool to titillate the tastebuds of caffeine fans will be canned espresso.

I look forward to trying that!

Haha...I immediately thought of you when I read that. Perhaps Phil might release a numbered, limited series and autograph one for you! ;D

Why do people have to tell others what they are worth?

That smacks a little of sour grapes. I didnt read in any part of the article where Phil quotes what hes worth.

With all due respect, this doesnt make Di Bella the hallmark of generosity and goodwill. I have no doubt that Phil and his organisation do a great deal more in this regard than well ever know.

Others, big and small, do it too, and relatively speaking, may indeed be far more generous. And who knows, maybe those other two that were, charging to taste their wares, were donating it all to a charity?

Anyway you look at it, turning a $5k investment into a business that sells more than a million cups of coffee a week is a phenomonal achievement.

And for sure, Ill be standing in line directly behind Andy for one of those cans of coffee!

I reread the article, and as we all know, sensationalism sells papers. And one of the things people like to know is about money. So giving Phil Di Bella the benefit of doubt, if the journalist did their research, they would be able to find that information re:net worth

Re: Di Bella - a brewing success

    HI guys...

glad an article created a little hype... and for the record.... i do not know what i am worth... so therefore do not release a figure... have none to offer....

certain figures are public knowledge and good journalist know where to look .... it is there job... ie. last offer to buy Di Bella Coffee Company, property owened by me etc etc..... (hope that clears that up)...

as for other posts... thanks for the congrats, thanks for the support...

and yes i have a product for release (not for sale).... in November.. and yes ALL coffee snobbers will be able to try it for FREE when i have the first 700 boxes delivered...

this is not a espresso replacement.... and certainly not to take on espresso... but on the contrary it is to take on instant coffee, red bull, ice break etc etc... very innovative... it will work....

will release more info when it is getting closer.... and will organise with the Coffee King Ande...... ;) to get this product exclusively tasted for the first time by coffee snobbers... i am sure Ande will have a way to do this.... all suggestions welcome.....

    THANKS TO ALLL..... :)

Brilliant, thanks Phil - Im looking forward to it!

Might I suggest a $2 donation to Fair Crack for a can of it, and that way we acknowledge our address details are free to be released to Di Bella and the FC fund makes a small amount for it also?

I know that, technically, it doesnt make it free as such but its a donation to a good cause?

What do you think, Andy or would it cause a logistical nightmare for you?

    Cheers
    Di

Interesting... A logistical issue for sure...

Only time will tell as the details get sorted...

For me I would be happy to try one or two at a Di Bella shop etc and show my CS card.... And then make a donation or two to FC.

Could be interesting trying to send a few cans to Epic76 in HK or the Java with a sore wrist in the US... We would have to travel with them and open for him ;D

Just need to remember, that the manual labour stops with opening the Di Bella can and NOTHING else... :o

Ive just finished it too - a great read, although I feel like donking his father in law over the head and telling him to snap out of it! Still, we all know a stubborn old man or two, I guess!

I think the book should have been sent to me to proof read first - my eyes were almost crossing with all the spelling and grammatical errors!

A great read, nonetheless and just made my aniticipation of going to Di Bella when I hit Brisbane even more strong.

    Cheers
    Di
