    Coffee project- help needed!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I am designing a new style of instant coffee packaging that intrigues and engages the user on a satisfying level thus improving their coffee experience. Please post what you feel are the main issues with instant coffee (preferably three or more points) as well as what you feel are the cause of this issue.

For example, the taste is poor due to low quality beans and harsh processing

I am fully aware that instant coffee will never be more enjoyable than a fresh cup but please remember this project is specifically for instant coffee and trying to improve the current experience.

    Thank you for your time

    WIll

Wrong forum... Wrong topic = more spam...

Regardless of the packaging.. *The product is crap.

Due to beans and harsh processing and that it is instant.

    Moderator intervention required.

To improve the current experience, change the packaging to read:
    STOP DRINKING INSTANT.
    Short project.

    Or to paraphrase Red Dwarf:
The 3 main problems with instant coffee are:
    1 - Its rubbish
    2 - Its rubbish
    3 - Its rubbish
Now I know that technically, this is only 1 reason, but its such a BIG one, its worth mentioning 3 times.

Put a bunch of beautiful women on the cover. It may still taste like crap, but the male population would get a kick out of the packaging.

I think the best way to improve the packaging would be to make the can big enough to include a complimentary GS/3 and Robur-e with every pack....

Also, if you can keep it under 20 bucks, it should be a runaway success *;)

Packaging that resembles a toilet bowl? Appropriate for before and after attempted consumption....

    although having said that,

A picture of a polished turd on the packet would be intriguing and may engage some on a satisfying level, probably wont improve their coffee experience though.

    thats a bit kinky.

    Packet reads:

She enjoys the burning sensation of freshly brewed coffee being poured down her naked back.
Think about her as you drink this instant, it will take your mind off the taste.

    Could work.

Hey, you guys - I have a perfectly good instant at home, made with the loving hand of Dennis the Delectable!

Cant vouch for the taste, though, because its still all nicely sealed up in a test tube...

WOW! someone actually came to US for ideas on how to get people to buy instant coffee?

Thats a bit like McDonalds going to the Rockpool and asking Neil Perry(tosser!) for his opinion on Asian salds. I had a laugh

    I love it ;D :D

I have never been so entertained on a CS forum EVER! This is gold.

I would have to agree with the suggestion made by Matt.

On the other hand, we were all (misguided) newbies once and it cant hurt to be nice, so I will put my inner coffeesnob aside for all of 5 seconds.
Here are my problems with instant:
    1. It tastes artificial; not like real coffee.
    2. Making instant coffee is boring - I find making my morning coffee on a real cofee machine very therapeutic
    3. It doesnt smell as good as real coffee.

Also, Im not sure how packaging will enhance the user experience. It might make someone buy your product instead of the competitors, but...

Finally, I do use instant coffee sometimes. And even for consumption.
    Just to bake with. :)

I am designing a new style of instant coffee packaging that intrigues and engages the user on a satisfying level thus improving their coffee experience.
The problem is that you might be able to intrigue and engage the user on some sort of satisfying level BUT it wont be about the coffee.

For example, if you could get away with it, you might put naked women on the packets and attract a lot of males (some may even buy the coffee), but once they taste it theyll realise its no different.

End result = I extra sale from that consumer and then no more.

So the premise is faulty; you cant satisfy the users coffee experience with packaging because the experience is about the coffee.

    *Chuckles*

Reminds me of the Nespresso posts on this site...

...when will people realise that this is a site for coffeesnobs? (or at least those that want to be!)

    Also...
