    car puccino

    "...Well this brings a whole new meaning to caffeine-fuelled.

    The car-puccino was unveiled this month and does exactly what it promises - it runs on coffee..."

    http://www.dothegreenthing.com/blog/car_puccino_anyone

    "...(And yes, the 1988 VW was chosen for its likeness to the DeLorean from Back to the Future)...."

    Coffee Powered Car

    I stumbled over this the other day, thought it might be of interest to cs'ers.

    "Coffee Car Mk 2 will soon be attempting a Guinness World Record for the fastest speed travelled in a car powered by used coffee! Practice run at Elvington Race Track near York on 10th August, and official record attempt on 14th September."

    Full site:

    Coffee Car :: Home

    EDIT: That's 14th September last year, there are some videos on the site.

    Ahhh, harking back to WWII when fuel was rationed and "Gassifiers" (Wood gas generator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) were used to power vehicles.

    During WW2 they used charcoal, not coffee, to make gas to fuel cars.

    True, but this thing appears to be based on exactly the same principle.
