This forum is full of comments about the differences between singles and doubles. Check put gregs post for one. http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1341197814/9#9. The big long one by Pullman Espresso towards the bottom. The baskets are constructed differently and have different quantities of grinds in them. So yes they behave differently. Suggestions? Updose the single, if possible. Preferably use a second grider for singles.

..What is .."much faster extraction" ??
    Are we talking a 10sec pour ?.. or a 25 sec pour .? ( assuming your "Normal" is about 30 sec ?)
    * If the taste is good, why worry ?
Otherwise,* what would you normally do to adjust the extraction time on any basket ?..
    .... :o..grind* adjustment !* ;)
