Just came across this online and ordered a copy. Curious as to whether anyone else has seen it, held it, read it? I think it's just landed on shelves.

The book arrived the other day. A nice combination of narrative (about how James Freeman, the author, got into the ever-engrossing world of coffee) and evangelism (of the same).
Includes recipes from his wife, Caitlin, with a section on growing, and roasting as well as call out boxes that offer info on topics. He doesn't sit on the fence, with sections like "A special place in hell: pod coffee" and summing up on the pros and cons of the various types of espresso machines, he finishes with Super Autos, saying "they tend to use cheap components and therefore break down more often. But they do allow you to make really bad drinks effortlessly." Nice book.

I havent read the book or any reviews, and going only on this comment without the benefit of any associated discussion from the book :
".....he finishes with Super Autos, saying "they tend to use cheap components and therefore break down more often. But they do allow you to make really bad drinks effortlessly....."

I can only say the first bit is at best a gross generalisation and at worst its plain wrong, and the second part is just another one sided opinion and you know what they say about opinions.....

I think I'll stick to good crime novels for my pre bed time reading.
