Had an espresso and a latté ........... first time I've seen a latté in a double walled.... um, ...receptacle.
    Inelegant.

And no ........... it was nowhere near the claim. :-D

Yeh, it's like Baldric's coffee in Blackadder Goes Forth.......muddy water from puddles on the battlefield, dandruff for sugar, and I'll leave the milk substitute out.

Whenever any business claims to be "the best", it invariably is nowhere near the best in my experience. It's generally a good bet to give it a wide berth as the others seem to have chokki

So what sort of outfit was it? In the city?
Hole in the wall? Old retail store converted? Previously a cafe? Coffee van?
Were they selling food as well? How long has it been there? What sort of staff?
Always intrigued by wild claims that don't deliver - just a student of human behaviour, I guess.

The sort of place where, when you ask for an espresso, the staff scurries out the back to find the boss. 8-o
The sort of place where the boss tells you how special the coffee is and how it's so special, it's all hand picked! :-)

The sort of place that doesn't realise how ridiculous it is to make such a claim. :-(

The sort of place that's ripe pickings for a commercial roaster with a glint in their eye. ;-D

Experienced just such a place in Kalgoorlie a few months back, doing some shopping and noticed a similar sign (I forget the exact wording) advertising very good espresso, says to wife why not? walked into a lunch style cafe, not an espresso machine in sight, so, I asked the question, whereupon the lady behind the counter pointed to a Krups home machine resting on a bottom shelf behind the counter, I decided to pass.
    Guess they were trying.
