Being driven crazy finding new cups!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi All,

It had to happen. I broke one of my favourite coffee cups and am looking for replacements. The cups I use were a set of cheapies from Target of all places. Unfortunately, Target is no longer selling them. They don't look like much, but for some reason I just love them. Here they are:

    http://www.target.com.au/p/set-of-4-...apier/54546240

You'd think finding something similar would be easy, but I've been driven insane. It's been weeks and nothing. Moments ago I measured up my good crystal whisky glasses thinking they might work. Luckily I snapped out of it before I turned my coffee problem into a whiskey problem, but I digress. I need help.

    Requirements are pretty simple:

    1) 150ml or so.
    2) No handle.
    3) Tapered so it stacks nicely.

I found an article on the cups at Single Origin Roasters commercial link removed per site posting policy and nearly cried as they are prefect, but not for sale presently (maybe later in the year, so I'm told).

I've found a few "double shot glass" type glasses (like this, Zoxoro.com.au | Lillian Tablesettings 10-Piece Double Shot Glasses Set, 5-Ounce, Clear), but would really prefer something ceramic.

I found this nice item from Mud Australia commercial link removed per site posting policy, but I think that is the "each" price. Yikes!

    Has anyone got any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    Dan

    Hey Dan
Sponsors Jetblack have these … I know they're glass rather than ceramic, but I use the 90ml for espresso and the 160ml for flat whites - they're the perfect size, unbreakable and cheap

Duralex Picardie Glasses (set of 6) 160ml

    Cheers Matt

Hi Dan. Try evilbay. A quick search yielded these cups. They are larger than what you are after but I'm sure there will be other sizes. I'm looking for a set too.

Thanks guys - I've found some others too. It seems that there are more options in glass. I've found "Libbey Glassware - Elan Duratuff Rocks" and "Libbey Glassware - Endeavour Rocks" that both come in 207mL and are quite nice. Also "Bormioli Rocco Amuse Bouche Ypsilon After Dinner Glass" might work and be a talking point.

Mind you, I like the look of the IPA, ACF, Nuova Point and Inker tulip cups - all of which have get a good wrap here - so maybe handles aint that bad. Just need to clear that with the boss

It's amazing how you get attached to something like a cup that you use every day. Time to start a new ritual perhaps. Or start drinking more espresso as I didn't break my favourite espresso cup...

    Cheers,

    Dan

Just to follow up on this, I've ended up going for the "Rick Stein - Multi-Purpose Cup Set 4pce". Google them - they look nice.

    Cheers,

To quote myself I ended up getting some cups and glasses from Gemini Catering out east of Mebourne.

Porcelain cups in different colours and a set of duralex. 200 and 220mls respectively. I also picked up a sugar dispenser for the wife's coffee. Saves me washing teaspoons (not).

    They look the biz. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429267780.555733.jpg

Aldi have the Expressi double walled glass cups in 100mm 260mm & Latte
I got the 260mm cappuccino cups and they are great. They can break easily though.
I have broken 1 already. Sorry I didnt get 2 packs of them now. They were $5 for 4 late last year
but looking on Aldis site looks like they are $8.99 for 4 now.
I bought some cheesy mugs with faces on in 2009 from Crazy Clarks which I really liked but I have
never seen them for sale since anywhere even in New Zealand as well in the last 6 years.
Seems like stores don't stock these items again or maybe the manufacturers stop making them or put up the price.

We use Rattleware cupping bowls. They are supposedly 200 ml but I reckon that they're less than that real world. Our locals love 'em.

I like these but have damaged wrists so need a handle to hold the precious brew or risk dropping them onto a sandstone floor.

[edit] I had initially intended to get cups without handles, but these were so nice, I was very surprised - hence my enthusiasm for the handles...

    Behmor Brazen - $249 - Free Freight
My bad :-/ A cafe I visited a few times in Hobart had them (Sash Coffee) and I was way too keen on them not to pick them up once getting back to Sydney.
