Confidence in front of a machine
So , im totally part of the whole passion for coffee mindset and i own like a really cheap espresso machine at home. Its not a great machine to be honest, i can't even pull shots properly out of it after like a few years
But i do know the concept behind it.! ( So lately i went into pour over and such)
So the question is in terms of cafe jobs, when they "test" you to making coffee. I can't seem to get my mind straight. I end up fumbling about and screw things up. I just feel that i don't have enough confidence or experience to work commercial machine.
Also, i guess not used to the difference in pressure and everything i guess
Any tips on boosting confidence?

You should contact one of the site sponsors here and make a time to call into one of their stores to get something that is closer to a commercial machine and that can do a great shot. And they can give you pointers to where you can do a short training course. Not a professional course - just a short one for consumers so that you can go home and practice with your new machine and get confidence at home.
If your serious about coffee for a career then you do need something reasonable at home.
