Reference books for Roasting and Espresso
A newbie to the forum - and thrilled to have an outlet for my caffeine addition issues
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I'm curious as to what are the 'go-to' books and articles the collective couldn't live without?
Perhaps categorised under the following headings:
- Espresso and associated techniques
Thanks in advance,
Thanks Mal - greatly appreciated.
plf, Scott Rao's books are very good. You might be interested in The Coffee Roaster's Companion and The Professional Barista's handbook. I have both and they are well-written and informative. He also publishes an eBook called Espresso Extraction: Measurement and Mastery, which I haven't bought/downloaded yet.
His website is Scott Rao Coffee Books | Instructional Coffee Making Books By Scott Rao
Sydney-based site sponsors, Di Bartoli, sell both the roasting book and the handbook and would happily post them to Perth. Other site sponsors might also stock his books. If you find anything else that it useful as part of your search, please post here. I'm always on the look out for good coffee-related books.
Thanks Scotty - added to the list :-)
